How long to get battery replaced?

Hi,

I'm going to setup a genius appointment to get my battery replaced in my 2012 Retina MBP. if I make an appointment will they do the replacement that day or do I need to leave for a day or two?

I've had several retina top cases replaced, but by Apple Authorized Service Providers, rather than the Apple Store. All were completed the same day, where the parts were ordered & delivered before I took the computers in. I assume Apple Stores stock top cases, but I am not sure if their turnaround is as fast.

Don't count on that. If it's a concern, call first to mke sure they have the parts. Otherwise it could easily be a few days. This is from experience
