How long to untethered iOS5 jb?

If I had to guess I'd say it will be longer than we want.
Comex is pretty much out and there hasn't been much
chatter by the dev team. Hopefully I'm wrong but we will
all have to wait and see.
Can't wait for them to enable Siri on iPhone 4's though!!

Sooner than later. They can start work today since the GM was released, and they said they already had 4-5 exploits. All they need is a 4s and then a little time.

I hope iOS 5 JB will work on iPhone 4's with the 01.59.00 baseband, without signal display issues, etc... I'm still stuck on 4.2.1 
Worst case scenario, ill just sell it while it's worth something unlocked and buy the iPhone 4S and wait for a Jailbreak as i'm not relying on an unlock phone for service.

I have two schools of thoughts
Its a new firmware and it is going to take them a while...especially with the extra device...so it may be longer on the 4s
But they have had the firmware build for a while, and it is jail broken tethered...maybe they have something up their sleeve and waiting for the final release, though as I type this I think of this...wouldnt someone have come out and said they have an untethered jailbreak of iOS5 beta? They can say they have it as long as they dont release HOW they got it so little to no worry of the hole getting patched there

Nobody in the jb community would do this as it would cause constant questions from end-users about its release. You'll basically be putting a target on your head.
My search tells me that the latest Redsnow can do this, but you have to point to the IPSW of Beta 7. I know this is no biggie, but you still have to go through the hassle of downloading an additional IPSW about 700 or more MB's.
No point in releasing a jb for a beta, it would just give a chance for it to get patched before the final release.
They did figure it out, but didn't want to give Apple an opportunity to prevent the exploit before the public release. That's common sense.
Chronic dev announced it at mygreatfest. They have 5 untethered exploits for iOS 5 and the A5 chip. I'm hoping they release one of the untethers soon. I don't feel like waiting until after they have a 4S to test it on. It already works on the iPad 2 so seeing as the 4S uses the same processor, it should work.

I doubt they'll wait for the 4S. I would expect all non-A5 devices to be untethered and JB within 2 weeks from this Friday. Why? The JB is already complete, they just need the untether component, which they said they have 5 exploits for (I believe A5 included).

But that said, there is no difference between tether and untethered, for any average JB user. I'm running tethered right now.
The true problem, is actually that many apps don't work. Winterboard REALLY needs an update in general, and biteSMS is beta, ect.
