Does anyone know when we can expect to see 2nd gen Intel Powerbooks for sale? I dont want to buy a 1st gen and get stuck with old and outdated tech when the 2nd gen comes out. Usually a 1st gen machine isnt as advanced as a 2nd and I am afraid I will be missing out on some hardware that would make my machine almost useless forcing me to shell out a couple more grand just to upgrade to a machine that is useable in day to day life.

Basically, Intel is now expected to deliver conroe by mid-summer 2006...quite a bit before earlier predictions. This is the chip to buy...64bit, etc, etc. This chip has the *potential* to put Intel back in competition with AMD's X2, etc. Unless you simply must buy now...this puppy is worth the wait!
peace

I bought a pro machine, and cannot even run an iapp. this really woirries me more about the new intel switch. i can see things being limited to g5/intel very soon.

I'm tired of these threads. Just go buy a PPC PowerBook.
