I have the 2019 model. I kept my late 2013 rMBP for almost 6 years.

How long I keep this will just depend on the updates ahead.

If an OLED comes out that's 16" next year I might upgrade.

But if updates ahead arent compelling I'll keep mine as long as I can.

I only updated bc I needed the bigger screen. My 13" was great though.

I have the 13" model and I love this little powerhouse. I reckon I can make it work for around six to seven years!

As long has I can. I want 7-10 years out of it. If you buy the base model, I can understand around 4-6 years but if you buy a more expensive with more power. I would expect more years out of it.

I will be looking at the 2020 and later Intel CPU based MBPs when they come out but I plan on using my six year old 2012 13" MBP (non-retina) that I purchased as new for another five years or at least until 2024. If I need to I will put a new battery in it and replace the original spinner HDD with an SSD. :D
