How many actually did the update to 1.1.1?

I updated to 1.1.1 and lost all my 3rd party apps, and am still up in the air about it.

It is a bit snappier tho! 😛
 
No regrets here, the overall stability of the macine has greatly improved! Including all the new features (though not the ones i wanted) are very nice, and i do enjoy them.

you sound like the people with a psp that refuse to update from the first few versions so they can play crappy NES emulated homebrew games instead of enjoying the full strength of the device. i like apptap as much as anyone but new features are keeping up to date with the technology of apple. plus, the installer will be updated shortly. i have no regrets on updating my iphone or my psp.
 
I updated... I had been waiting around for it, so figured why the heck not? I have no regrets. Granted 3rd party apps are great and were an amazing feature, but as long as they figure it out again for this firmware we will all be happy again, just gotta give 'em some time.

So you will take the crap that Apple fed everyone today over the ability to have chat, games, customizeable icons, icons, file sending....Etc Etc Etc Etc...?

The installer.app was so much more than just the NEs rom. It was a fix for Apple's HUGE failure. It showed that Apple could have easily developed those sort of apps for the phone, and let everyone have them. The fact that the update actually leaves the 3rd party apps on the phone, but just disables them, shows all they wanted to do was take them away from everyone. And guess what they will do once there is an installer.app update? Firmware 1.1.1.5 They already did it with iTunes and ringtones.

Such a disappointment with Apples actions with this product.

I agree! 3rd party apps > Itunes wifi store and other useless updates

BTW when is that stupid Starbucks app suposed to come out? Now theres something we all want!!!!!!!!! 🙄
 
I updated and Im happy with it.
Only thing that sucked I lost my ringtones transfered with iphoneringtonemaker.
Other than that the phone in general and safari seems way more stable and faster than before.
Good think they enable the feature to shut edge off while out of the AT&T network and the few other features they added were cool.
 
i regret i updated, why did i , i dont even buy tunes from itunes...damn damn damn if i could just go back 2 hours....now im stuck with this boring spring board again................🙁

Wow, that is a great disappointment. Looks like I am not missing anything in this update then. I really hope they add podcasts in the future, or an SDK so one can be developed without fear of Apple pulling crap like they did today.

the only thing that I liked about the new upgrade is the Wi-Fi store. Other than that??? nothing special.

PS TO APPLE: no, the update didn't increase the volume of the speaker phone!!!!😡
 
For some reason I thought that one pink icon on my phone would be cooler than thirty icons made by 3rd party developers...

I was wrong 🙁

and no, the speaker is not louder, but i can give more of my money to Apple now 😀

I don't even own a PSP.. 😛

New features are keeping up with the technology of apple? I don't consider the ITunes Wi-Fi store a major upgrade to technology, I can access the ITunes music store with my MacBook Pro just fine, plus I have access to videos and podcasts, which you don't have access to via the IPhone ITunes Wi-Fi, in the end it's really just another way for apple to try to get people to burn money...
 
i updated hoping for things to be a bit more stable, plus i had nothing to lose (didn't load 3rd party sw).

after the update, my wifi started working. go figure. i was pulling my hair out trying to get it to connect to my home network, but i never did.

maybe they shore up their wifi stuff because their revenues depended on it?
 
I restored my phone and then installed the firmware.

I miss my apps, but I'd rather keep my phone up to date.
