For a minute I thought you meant how many 2020 Apple products!

(was gonna sigh and say zero, so far)
(now I'm gonna sigh and say I don't want to admit to the true number overall)

OK: a couple laptops, two iPads, two iPhones, two iPad minis and at least one iPod touch get used every day. Spare iPhone in a drawer and a partridge in a pear tree.

(and then there are all those nano iPods and a couple Classics and U2 editions hanging out in speakerdocks all over the place).

I'm a hapless creature with a ring punched in my wallet and a rope that stretches all the way to Cupertino's marketing department.

How many Apple products do I own? {A lot.} But my favorite Apple product definitely is the Apple Watch. I became a little obsessed with it😁, and I’ve mixed and matched the first GEN stainless through Series 5 stainless, Both with the stainless steel casing and black stainless steel with the DLC coating.

yes, I know I have a problem.😁

The newest Apple item I own is an iPhone X from 2017, although I use a 2018 Macbook Pro provided by my work. My wife owns a pair of airpods and an iPhone 11 though.

For the past few years, Apple seems to have been on a mission to make as many un-enticing products as possible. Hopefully with the rumors of of under-screen TouchID, better HomePod support, and a real keyboard on their laptops again, I'll be able to upgrade soon.

That's some list there... I'm starting to feel much better. But I realize I left out my 512k Mac, some accessories for that (related to its serial port oddities iirc) and a G4 TiBook and some stuff like a magic keyboard, bunch of docks, the original Apple pencil and a raft of cable adapters like 30 pin to lightning and FW800-400 etc. There are still a few old iBooks in the house, usually stuff returned to me (possibly inoperable) from kin with a note like "oh and something is stuck in the optical drive I think it's mom's copy of Polar Express." Also and for parts, another TiBook with (i think) a bad connector in the keyboard ribbon cable and a hard drive gone dicey, another gift from kin who'd got a newer machine. And at least one Apple dot matrix printer, in a closet upstairs somewhere.

It could be almost time to declutter.

Too numerous to list, but I will list just the three I received for my birthday; iWatch 5 with cellular service, iPod Earbuds Pro, and a 13 inch MacBook Pro which yet to be received, hopefully, it will arrive soon.

What's on my sig, plus an iPod Shuffle I got on a whim when I heard Apple were discontinuing all non-touch iPods. Almost never use it since I forgot how much I hate the old flat earbuds.

Of the newer stuff, an iPhone 8 and an Apple TV 4K (was offered with the cable). The iPhone's 2-year contract is paid off now, but I was one of those people hoping the SE 2020 would be small because I was never that very happy with the 6S Plus or the 8 as much as I was with the 5S. If the original SE manages to barely get iOS 14, might just have to get it refurbished. Not using Apple Pay much anyway.

Devices that work and I still own are:
  • 2010 iPod Nano
  • 2011 Time Capsule 2TB
  • 2011 Magic Mouse
  • 2011 iPad 2
  • 2011 SuperDrive
  • 2015 Apple Watch Series 0
  • 2018 iPad Pro 11”
  • 2019 iPhone 11 Pro
  • 2019 Apple Watch Series 5
  • 2019 MacBook Pro 16”
  • 2019 AirPods Pro
The late 2011 MacBook Pro now serves as a very nice paperweight for broadsheet newspapers thanks to the soldering.

Can’t help but feel that some of the earlier Apple products are really long-lasting and delivered good value for money. Whether the Mac Pro wheels meet these standards remains to be seen.

iPhone (2007), iPhone 7, iPad Air (2019), MacBook Pro 13” (2013), AW S5, AirPods (2017), AirPods Pro, time capsule (2009), iPod shuffle (2nd gen), Apple TV (4th gen). All still work and all but the 2007 iPhone and iPod shuffle are in regular use.
