Because you‘re into watches and enjoy some variation (and I REALLY do). Sometimes I switch watches and/or straps 3 times a day if I feel like it😉Just one. I don’t know why you’d ever need more than one at a time.

I get the appeal of collecting different watches or different bands, but different colors of the exact same watch just seems like hobby for someone with more money than sense.Because you‘re into watches and enjoy some variation (and I REALLY do). Nah, different color = different watch😅I get the appeal of collecting different watches or different bands, but different colors of the exact same watch just seems like hobby for someone with more money than sense.
The max number of Apple watches that can be paired to 1 iPhone is 5.Nope, you can pair up to 6 if I‘m not mistaken. The ones I own are all paired and automatically switched when I put them on
Ah OK, thanks for clearing that upThe max number of Apple watches that can be paired to 1 iPhone is 5.
Plus they are not all the same watch, Series 3 is different then the Series 4, Series 5 is different then the Series 6 ect.Nah, different color = different watch😅
Not to mention different materials!Plus they are not all the same watch, Series 3 is different then the Series 4, Series 5 is different then the Series 6 ect.
Your welcome, I found this out the hard way LOL, now I have one watch I can't pairAh OK, thanks for clearing that up![]()
The 3 is different. The 4, 5, and 6 are basically indistinguishable from each other as far as external design goes.Plus they are not all the same watch, Series 3 is different then the Series 4, Series 5 is different then the Series 6 ect.
I don't understand this comparison. Watches have always been a fashion accessory. People, for a long time, have paired different watches with different types of clothes and different occasions/use. Phones are not like that and, besides, are paired with a phone number. So it does make sense, if you are interested and have money, to have different watches/watch colors/materials to go with what you are wearing or what you feel like wearing. The 3 is different. At the end of the day, it's your money to spend as you please, I just think it's a waste of money to buy the same thing 3 times. Do you also own every color of iPhone? Or multiple colors of the same car?

The key part of what you said is "different watches". I've owned several watches in the past, but I bought watches that were different in style, not just 8 of the same watch in every finish. Owning multiple watches isn't the part I find weird. It's owning many of the same watch.I don't understand this comparison. Watches have always been a fashion accessory. Out of interest, how many of your watches are the exact same watch but in a different colour?I don't collect Apple Watches but I do have several guitars. Other people collect Pokemon, stamps, cars, girlfriends/boyfriends, etc. I have many (non-Apple) watches too, come to think of it, can only wear one at once.
I don't think it's more money than sense, it's just that different people like different stuff.
In the meantime, I sold my mechanicals off (but one) but to answer your question (not to me but anyway)….Out of interest, how many of your watches are the exact same watch but in a different colour?
Well....CRAP!!!The 3 is different. The 4, 5, and 6 are basically indistinguishable from each other as far as external design goes.

The thing that drives this for me (and I am assuming for many others) is that we are band collectors first. The reason I like having a gold watch and a silver watch is that they each look good with different bands. I guess the other thing is that I like having one of my watches be Nike because I really like the Nike faces when I wear Nike bands. The key part of what you said is "different watches". Like I said, it's your money to spend how you like, this is just my opinion.

Different colors and different materials. I have a Space Grey Aluminum that looks black, a silver Stainless Steel, and a white Ceramic Edition. All look different, and all match differently with different colors and styles of bands. I rotate between the three watches every day, and change bands every day.I get the appeal of collecting different watches or different bands, but different colors of the exact same watch just seems like hobby for someone with more money than sense.
Based on the tips in this thread, I've now also started switching between two watches, particularly because I use the Sport Loop with the S4, which isn't the best in the pool. Then, I just switch to the S2 equipped with the standard, water-friendly Nike band. No need to swap bands before and after swimming on the S4...S0 42mm, s2 42mm, s3 42mm and S4 40mm, all GPS-only & alu models and working just fine. Only using S4; S0 and S2 are only for dev/testing purposes; S3 used by my wife. Will upgrade to S7 GSM this fall if there are major improvements (unlike with the S4-S5-S6 upgrades).
