I think I might be an app whore. I have downloaded 28 apps and add new ones everyday.
Just around 34..... But about to delete the ones I don't use and only tired out.
You do realize that you will eat up the iPhone ram (makes apps run faster) and soon your iphone iwll be uber slow
i have downloaded like 20 and kept about 12-15
That's a lie...... How is that possible if the phone cannot run background programs......
ok but that thread asked what are the apps I just want to know the # of apps. We are talking quantity not quality.
Lol same diff
How the heck do you people use so many apps? LOL I find a lot of them already do the same thing that pre-installed apps do and wouldnt need the extras. I only keep what I really need, but I hate clutter.
Currently have 7 installed, 2 of which are games. Might wind up with a few more as need arises, but could never see getting up to 20-30 apps!
do apps take alot of MBs? because i know ill end up with like 30 or 40 and i dont want to use ALL of the storage right off the bat.
So far, I have only downloaded 2 apps: eReader and Texas Hold-em.
I wonder where the apps go. They either have to go into RAM or into the mass storage area (flash memory?). If they go into RAM I would imagine that there could be a performance hit (even though the app is not running anywhere).
I do know that my 2G iphone seems to run alot slower and I only downloaded two apps. When I first upgraded to the new firmware the iphone seemed to run faster but not anymore.
Anyone know more about the apps as to what effect they have on performance?
The apps go into your flash storage, same place as your music, photos, emails, etc.. They don't run in the background, so they wouldn't affect your RAM when you exit out of them. Native apps (ie, Safari) should be quit by holding down the home button for about 5 seconds. It will bring you back out to the home screen and should free up any ram that was being used by that app.
The user interface is slow because 2.0 is really buggy right now. I'm sure an update is coming right around the corner.
iTunes shows that I have 10 apps, two of which I paid for.
Paid for SMB, CBNK 3D, Sketches, Solitaire Top 3, GasHog.
I have downloaded about 25 but kept only 15
just a couple! 30 in total
