I've currently got 6 computers, 7 processors, 9 threads running.

My PowerBook 1.5 GHz.
My wife's 3.0 GHz HT P4 at home (2 threads running)
My AMD 1.3 GHz at home
My work machine, a 2.8 GHz HT P4 (2 threads)
Another idle machine at work, 2.0 GHz P4, non-HT
Our compile server, a dual Processor Xeon (1 WU per processor)

Used to also have a 1.2 GHz AMD working at home that has since had a hardware failure.

I'm also looking at upgrading my home PC to a 3.0 GHz HT P4 in the near future and swapping out the 1.2 AMD with the 1.3 which should eliminate the failure (I hope).

why do you use the PB for Seti? I would have HD cycles from the PB and use the eMac instead.

I have 3 P3s bought second hand from ebay for less that $40 each, they do different things like folding proteins and acting as file servers and edonkey clients) , 1 dual P3 server that processes RAW files or compresses movies overnight, a Dell D600 from work (which is the ugliest thing in my flat) and a PB12" which I used more that all the others together.

Three.

My G5 iMac (at my fiance's condo)
My old Dell P3 (at my apartment)
My IBM ThinkPad T41 laptop (at work)

Guess which one is my favorite? :D

I use an iMac G3 333 with OS X 10.2 at home for email and casual web browsing.

At work I use a Pentium 4 3GHz running Windows XP.

I bought myself an iBook G3 700 running OS X 10.3 for watching downloaded TV episodes and to do net stuff in cafes, but it's been stuck at work for the last month as a test platform since our product ICEpdf 2.0 is now supported on the Mac.

I don't and won't do anything for SETI. If extraterrestrial life existed God would have told us from the beginning. ;) All in all it is a waste of time and a waste of your life for an empty cause.

God: Oh and Adam, you're not the only one. Last night, when I should have been resting—I'm a workaholic, I know—I went and created the Beatleguese system and I made a whole 'nother race. These guys are lizards—I took the dino platform and just sort of humanized it. Those dinos were just such a disaster, oh no a comet! Bunch of winers. Anyway, what was I saying, oh yeah those guys are lizards, so sorry buddy I know you thought you were special and all, but really I'm going to create a whole bunch of other races and I'm not going to tell you about them. In fact, I've said too much, forget the whole thing. No, really Adam forget the whole thing or I'll break off another rib.

As for computers, I typically use my Powerbook and I move between different boxes at work. You people who have more than 4 of these things scare me. ;)

4.

1. Dual 2.0 PM
2. 12" ibook
3. Windows server that holds media and is an application server for the family.
4. Crappy Windows laptop at work.

i use 8 in all:

dell inspiron 1.7 GHz Pentium-M (mine)
dell latitude 1.8 GHz Pentium-M (dad's)
dell dimension 2.2 GHz P4 (family)
dell inspiron 2.2 GHz Pentium 4 (mom's)
emacs (school's)
apple powerbook pismo 500 MHz G3 (mine)
dell dimension Pentium II 450 MHz (family's)
soon: apple ibook G98++ (mine)

6500 powermac at home running 8.6, lovely jubbly;
dell lappie; dell desktop, both at home running xp sp2;
dell desktop at work running xp pro;

6 at the moment:

4 P4-1.7ghz
2 P3-500mhz and 1ghz

I'll be adding one more P4-1.7ghz shortly, and if I can configure my mini to only run when I'm not around and the noise wouldn't bother me, then I'll at that. I'm very tempted to install in on the servers I administer at work, one of which is a dual CPU 3ghz Xeon, which I assume is running in some sort of HyperThreading mode, as it presents 4 CPUs to Windows, just to see how fast it would chew through a WU. But, I think I would get into some trouble if I did, so for now, I'll be holding off...

I use two on a regular basis.

15" iMac G4 (700), upgraded. :cool:
Primary machine for the past 440 days.

13.3" Dull Latitude (366). :rolleyes:
disclaimer: it was a very good deal.

Soon to arrive:

New 12" iBook G4. :D

OT: The God and Aliens discussion would be great fodder for *another* thread. ;)

2

A Quicksilver powerMac is my main box. A g3/300 Beige desktop is not getting much use. I was thinking of installing Debian Linux on it.

Can I fold with this old-ass g3? how?

God made us what we are today. In the future, we will go back in time to visit ourselves. In the future, we will look like aliens (evolution.) We might go back so far to aid/improve in our creation. We will become God. Its one big, vicious circle. Aliens made us what we are today.

God = Alien = Us

how people who have no experience or understanding of the underlying reality of the world are able to pull **** like this out of there arses and state it as fact is beyond me.

The thread is "How many computers do you use?". It is not a religious discussion. You wouldn't want the thread closed now, would you?

Powerbook G4 (see sig.)
HP P4 2.8GHz Windows XP (work)
eMac (work) OS9.2
Powermac G3 (work) OS8
Toshiba Notebook (work, don't know what model exactly it's a POS)

I use two primarily - PowerBook and Palm.
Each day I generally spend a little time on each of our family computers (3 others) helping other family members.
It used to be that I had three computers that I split between because computers were so slow but now my PowerBook generally can keep up with me.

I think maybe you missed the gist of this thread... the question is more about what computers you use to fold on, not just use in a generally daily sense.
