I have one dead center, but I only notice it on a solid color screen, so I will probably just forget about it. I know what a pain it is to exchange for dead pixels on a MBP.

How many do you have, if any, and how many do you need for Apple to exchange it?

0 so far let me check with that pixel app

Back when I got my EDGE iPhone I had 1 stuck pixel, brought it to the genius bar, the guy agreed, and he gave me a white box replacement. Took a total of 10 minutes. Good Luck!

What's a whitebox replacement?

It is a replacement from that comes in a white box. The Genius have a supply for warranty exchange purposes.

For each model, they start out as new but as the time goes, they start to cycle refurbished units through. So for now, you should expect to receive a "Brand New" white box unit for a warranty exchange on a iPhone 3G S unit.

So if you have an warranty issue with your new iPhone 3G S, now is the time to get a warranty exchange if you really have to have a "new" iPhone.

Yep, I just found that out when I went to exchange my phone. After waiting about half an hour, they told me they didn't get a white box phone of my model yet, (16gb white).

So basically, they could do nothing for me. They said if I had bought it in store they could have exchanged it, but since I ordered it online, they couldn't, and that I would have to call Apple Care.

When I first got my iPod I had 1 pixel which was red all the time. Now I have 4, 2 are red and 2 are a green/blue colour. It's annoying, but, this iPod is almost 3 years old (time to get a iPhone :D)

I have one but it looks like a spot of dust near the bottom. You can't see it unless you to go a total black screen and look very closely.

If I recall, if you've got stuck pixels or another issue that warrants replacement and it is within the return period (14 days in Calif.), they replace it with another one out of the retail box. At least that's what they did with my 3G last year.

Also, no stuck/dead pixels here yet...

Sorry to hear that. It doesn't sound too bad, though.

I decided just to keep mine. Life is short, and I have no desire to wait on the phone for Apple Care for hours, wait around for an exchange to arrive, send the old one out, etc.

Besides, I could just as well have a dead pixel, or more than one, on the next iPhone 3GS that arrives!

I have that YELLOW tint but no dead pixels. I might just stick with it because I KNOW that if I try to exchange it I'll end up with a dead pixel >:[

And if I try to exchange my dead pixel iPhone, I might get a yellow screened one! Or how about this, a yellow screen with dead pixels! LOL

They said it was something about AT&T that wouldn't allow them to exchange a phone purchased online with a phone sold at their retail store, because when you order online they have some of the information cued up with your phone already, and when you buy them in store, they are totally clear and clean.

To find out if you have any stuck pixels, cover up the camera and take a black picture. Next just look at it from a bunch of angles. Happy to say that both my wife and I got no dead pixels, light leak or case cracks.
