Zip. Nada. Not a single mac in the schools I've been in this city. Seen some in the polytechnic but since I don't study there, they don't count. Was a bit of a risk to make the switch since I hadn't used an OS X Mac for more than a minute previously.

Now I'm looking forward if my next school will have some macs of it's own or do I need to macenglista them too :D

We were promised new computers every year, but no one cares enough as computer classes aren't exactly 'fun' in my school.

25 custom built Windows 98 machines without USB and only has a floppy disc drive.

There are too many to count. Thats the beauty of this school, they have love for both users. Of course our computers are pretty old, but they are still pretty fast and can do everything you need to.

0, in both K-8 and high school. The grade school used to have all Macs (all-in-ones), but that ended in 2nd grade which was 6-7 years ago. Then we had crappy custom-built Windows machines that ran 95. Then 2 years ago, everybody got new Dells, but one computer lab that was hardly used still had the old computers but got upgraded to, wait for it.... WINDOWS 98! I wish they had Macs. To my best knowledge, I'm the only kid with a Mac, none the less 4 computers in your room, 2 dead in the closet.

well sense I dont really have a school right now (I just graduated)... 0

But in my old school we had probably 10+ per class room and theres like 12 rooms plus 30 "floater" iBooks so about 150, most of them eMacs or G3 iMacs and we also have some G4 towers.

i have no macs in my school:mad: , and it stinks.. i really want us to become a macbook school were every one carrys around a macbook and usues them..ahh what a wonderful school would that be if it was true.

There are no Macs in my school...since in Spain there are no many Mac users and some people ignore their existence or say of course I know what a macintosh is..THOSE COMPUTERS WITH AN APPLE.

But well fortunately for us that ignorance gives us some advantages.

22 Powerpc iMacs (the ones that look like the pixar lamp,g3s i think.....)
2 Intel Core Duo iMacs
3 Macbook Pros -Teachers
2 White Macbooks -Teachers
1 PowerMac
2 Xserves (One is a sever for the 24 imacs, the other is a server for pcs :( )

We have 30 or so iMac G4s in the graphics lab. Other than that, we have new Core 2 Duo Dells overtaking the school by the hundreds.

None at all, it used to be all Macs...then they went cheap about a year after I arrived...

Loads of pcs...but macs are all in one small room - the Publications office for making the school magazine - 4 G4 Mac Minis, G5 Powermac, some older equipment running OS9 and a brand new 20" Alu iMac.

Most of the computers in my school are macs. They are literally everywhere; I've seen so far iMac's G4, iMac's G5, iMac's Intel Core Duo's, iMac's Intel Core 2 Duo, PowerMacs as admin stations in each one of the labs (in every building)... and so on and so forth. Students have access to Macs more than to PC's... although, those are easily spotted around campus in offices.

210 eMacs
A few iMac G3s left, we switched most of them to eMacs.
30 iMac G5s
2 Powermac G4s
1 Powermac G5
Then about 100 teachers each with their own Powerbook, Macbook, or iBook.

I've seen one iMac G4 and the current iMac, both which are in the main office.

Wow, I was kind of surprised to see this thread. But while its resurrected, I thought I'd give an update. New technology has come! A little bit, at least.

Hey all. I got bored, so I compiled a list of every single computer in my school. We need to do some serious hardware updating.

1 - Power Mac G5 - I wanna know how in the world the secratery in a small private elementary school managed to get this in the budget. They go for a ton o' money. An iMac G5 would be more appropriate, you'd think - but I'll just wind up asking about it later when she gets an uber Intel iMac pro thing - so I won't complain.
1 - iMac G5 - principals' - leaves an iMac G3 that I want open for no one to use - I'll hafta ask about it soon.
2 - iMac G3 - There was the snow one that was the principals - but as of Wednesday there is a blueberry iMac hanging around the storage room. I'll hafta ask about it, the snow one hasn't been touched in ages, and I doubt this will be, either. And I'm still mac-less.(edit: we are in the middle of a million dollar expansion project...and these iMacs are going into the new, bigger computer lab:()
5 - Power Macintosh G3(blue and white) - Scattered throughout the media center.
3 - Power Macintosh G3(all-in-one) - scattered throughout the media center.
31 - Power Macintosh 5400, 5260 - these are two separate computers - but they are identical in the case. These are scattered througout 7 classrooms, and the media center.
1 - Macintosh LC III - One of the old teachers school computer for the last 13 odd years. Ancient(the computer, not the teacher), the blueberry iMac may replace this.
1- Power Mac G4(9.2 server) - The dutiful server.
17- iBook G3(2 - 14", 15 - 12") The 14" ones are for my homeroom teacher, and for my lit/writing teacher. One of the 12" ones is for my science teacher, whose Pismo's screen broke in his duffel bag, and the other 14 is in the mobile lab.
9 - PowerBook G3(Pismo) - Scattered throuout the teachers. And for some reason, there are 3 in the sink in the media storage room, and one in the iBook mobile lab. Don't ask, but I think one in the sink is the science teachers, with the broken screen.
1 - gutted remains of a Performa 600 - I only ever found the front bezel...?
1 - iBook G4 - tech coordinators. 3rd most advanced mac in the building, the two G5's are ahead, obviously.

So, how many are in your schools? Grand total for mine: 73 Macs, from a Power Mac G5 to a Macintosh LC III.

Now, we've got:

A Bunch Of G3 iMacs - Most of the 5260s through 5400s got replaced with these. We were actually excited to be able to replace our outdated computers with slightly-less-outdated iMacs:eek:. We actually had to fish 'em out of an alleyway in Chicago. There are about...oh, God. 40ish, but a few are broken. They're slowly but surely getting taken apart and (hopefully:)) fixed by yours truly.

Those Same Five B&W G3's - still there.

5 New MacBooks(!) - We finally started replacing those PowerBooks, and more of these beauties are coming. We actually got really lucky with these - we ordered iBooks from somewhere over the summer for like $900 apiece, but they ran out. Therefore, we got the latest MacBooks to make up for them, with no cost increase. And then, it cost a pittance(like $20, period) to update our grade software from Classic to OS X-based. So w00t!

All Those Power Macintoshes - Either in storage or still in use - about 20ish are still used. The G3 ones are more or less dead, and we're not even going there. iMacs, ftw.

That LC III is - gone! Replaced by one of the 5260's, which I can't imagine is much better, but whatever.

All those iBooks are still there, but the two teacher's ones are getting replaced with the MacBooks eventually(as in, whenever we get the cash - small Catholic school, bah). Plus, last year we updated them from Jaguar to Tiger.

That PMG5 is still there. Still wish it was mine. Same goes for the prinicpal's iMac.

The server, IMHO, needs updating, but it likely won't be. Its been running like a champ for about eight years now, and it will be for the forseeable future.

And that's about it.

My highschool has at least 7 computers in each room. The business wing uses HP's but every other room has macs, Teachers and library have emacs, students get iBook G3 and iBook g4s, the library has 4 G5 imacs and two carts of 20 macBooks. The office and admin branchs have all imacs (G4). Our design classes use emacs and imacs. tech office uses both windows and mac, mainly windows because somehow our servers are windows. the nurses office has G3 imacs (4 of them). Thats all i can think of.:D:apple:

One old iMac G3 running Mac OS 9 in the Library, and a mobile lab of about 15 iBook G4s (Panther).

Officially, zero. The IT guys hate them with a passion, although the director used to work for Apple. A few teachers and students have some though, so I'd say there are at most 3 in the entire school at once (and one of them is mine) :(

high school: none

college: none

:( :( THEY USE DELLS AT BOTH!

however I have had about 1-2 Macs all my life so I am doing good. But from just two people having Macs in high school we convinced about 30% (just about 5 kids..lol i had about 130 kids in my class but only about 15-20 kids went to college.) :). Hahaha yes stock goes up (slightly)

My school buys HP's. I worked at my school setting up the computers.

This year for the high school they bought 70 new HP Desktops with pretty good specs. 2.4ghz Core Dou 2 Processors, 120gb Hard Drives, 2GB Ram, 256mb VRAM, gigibit ethernet, 17" height adjustable LCD monitors. All the other computers in the school now are P4's.

There are maybe 3-4 macs in my school at this point. The middle school across the street has a beautiful tech ed lab. They have 20" CD2 (white) iMacs all linked up with an xServe. It's beautiful.

My school is similarly PC-centric. I am beginning to change this, however, at least in my department. I wrote a grant that allowed us to replace all our Dell machines with new 20" aluminum iMacs. Needless to say, the Apple reps in the area were very happy with us and made us a wonderful deal on the machines.

my school of about 500 people is mainly mac. we have two pc labs running win2k of ~30 pcs each. The rest are Macs. A total of ~150 for the student labs and each teacher gets one too so thats another 54. (these are the new iMacs too, we just got them) its really quite neat because my boss is the technology coordinator so im aloud to fix things in the middle of class :D.
