An hand made one by an italian craftsman. I’m reconsidering it because today, for the first time, I’ve got some problems with my contactless credit card (need to use it instead of apple pay, long story) and I’m scared that the phone could damage the contactless chip.
That's REALLY nice! If I had a smaller sized phone instead of my Max, I'd consider something similar, but with the Max, it adds more unwanted weight.

I like the Mini's combination of small size and full features very much and will seriously consider the 13 mini. However I would prefer Touch ID over Face ID. Otherwise it might become the SE2. 6S owner.

Just wanted to see how many here actually own a Mini. I do and i love it, my favorite iPhone ever. I can hold it normally and reach the top corners. Really hope Apple brings it back next year.
White, 256GB owner here. Really disappointed to see lackluster sales with worries they will discontinue it. Been waiting on a small iPhone ever since they got rid of the original size. LOVE my mini and would purchase a new one every year if they made it available.

There used to be this ebook reader app that published the breakdown of iPhones and iPads on their sites. But I can't find them anymore. Not sure if they disappeared or Google is just being stubborn.

From MixPanel it seems the 12 mini is about 7.5-8% of all iPhone 12 series sales.

Anyways, I like my 12 mini.
Small phones are least likely to be used for ebook reading, so that as a data source is never going to be representative.

Mini is great. I have not seen much people using though, mostly using pro max in this part of the world. Maybe they use it as an all rounder without additional tablet support or just the peer pressure of huge phones everyone is using.

That said, I am not quite impressed with the 6.7 screen. Having used 6.8 to 7.6 android phones screen before so nothing special about the pro max.

I wonder what is that excitement about sometimes....but the mini..good old days!

I have yet to see a mini in the wild. If I do, I expect to hear David Attenborough narration with the sighting.

I used to read ebooks on iPhones with 3.5” screens! The mini is downright gigantic in comparison. 😅
It’s possible you didn’t read my post. Particularly the words “less likely”.

What I’m saying is this method of calculating “market share” is various models will inherently undercount the smaller ones.

Black 64 gig mini here. Absolutely the exact iPhone over wanted for a long time - and I’ve owned most of them. Easily my favorite.

128GB blue here since November 13. There is scope for it to be a little smaller. What's this I hear about tInY and yOu CaN't dO oR sEe AnYtHiNg oN tHe SmAlL sCrEeN??? They haven't used one! It is awkwardly large to use, that's how large it is. Also, the only other issue (is it an issue?) is no good zoom lens. At work I like to record stickers and details that are too far to get to.

And bAtTeRy? The same as my old excellent iPhone XS.

Otherwise, it is my favourite smartphone ever (of the 10 I have had which includes 6 Androids). I always think of it as the same phone as the XS, but in a manageable size. The price is fine for the specs. The spec level is perfect for me. No wonder that spec level is the bestselling. People are happy. It's not only the lower price.

I happened to order the iPad 3 on the first day and got rid of it when the iPad mini 5 came along.
Yeah me too, only to discover they replaced it after 6 months with the superior iPad 4 that proven to last longer with longer iOS supports. But even the iPad 3 last me a long time before it started to choked on the newer updated apps. I think it lasted longer than most Android tablets.
The iPad 3 is a learning stepping stone I think, the huge retina display that time is premature. The battery heats up easily and make it heavier and thicker. Apple carefully implemented newer hardware technology ever since.

The moment lenses work great! I’m having a lot of fun with them.

Only caveat — and I haven’t tested this carefully but it’s my impression — is that stabilization on video doesn’t work as well when you’re really pushing it. If you‘re moving gracefully it‘s fine, but I’ve tried like, running around on a beach chasing the waves and the resulting footage was a little jerky with the Moment tele attached.

Here are some snapshots, nothing too arty but you can see what I’m getting with the mini’s wide lens + Moment telephoto. For the night ones I’ve used a little baby tripod, which makes things notably sharper. (One of these is using the anamorphic lens — you’ll know it when you see it!)

Incidentally, I’ve come to enjoy the ultra-wide for getting weird effects sometimes. I agree though, tele would be far more useful.
Would you mind dropping a link of the moment lenses that works with the mini?

I haven’t seen any statistics on it, but do you guys also feel that way more men than women seem to be using the Mini? I know that many guys also like bigger screen phones, but there seems to be a bigger imbalance when it comes to the Mini... I don’t know if women are more into social media and such, and therefore prefer a larger screen, but from my own limited personal experience it does seem like that might be the case... My wife recently told me that she prefers her iPhone X to my 12 Mini just for the increased screen size alone. Guess us Mini fans are in the minority 🤷‍♂️

Well my wife is quite into her Social media (instagram/tick tock etc) so she just wants larger screen phones, i can imagine there are many other women out there with a similar use case. She upgraded last April, and insisted on the Galaxy S20 'Plus' which has a 6.7 screen, even though EE had really good deals for the standard S21 which has a 6.2" screen (basically phone would have been free). She just laughs when she sees my 12 mini and its size, but she does appreciate its flat edge deign and all screen display. When we put our phones next to each other though it really is quite comical! I get the last laugh though, as despite the much larger battery in her S20 Plus, her battery is always low and needing charging, where as my 12 mini and its smaller battery always seems to be going strong.

It’s not low though $1200 for a 64 gb

Maybe having a handbag to schlepp around a large phone might be handy too and make larger phones more attractive...

Yep, just what I was going to say. Women carry handbags they can easily throw a larger device into. I can’t think of a single woman I know who carries a phone in her pocket, every guy I know does.

This thread actually I spired me to go grab one. I love it! It’s an adjustment coming down from the 12 pro Max. But it’s lovely to use a phone with one hand again and my pocket not have a brick in it!

My 18 year old daughter and her friends do, i didn't have to look far. You must be hanging around oldies with handbags.
