I had the first gen Occulus for about a week. The screen door effect made me nauseous within about 15 minutes of use. I havent tried VR since. I pray the VP doesn’t do this to me.

Funny side note: My damn cat pissed in the box before I returned it. I bet Amazon loved that return 😂.

We have a Quest 2. Like almost everyone we played around with it, and now it collects dust.

Given a choice right now I’d still choose it over Apple VR set. First of all it does the undisputed #1 thing that VR is for: games.

I can even link it to my PC and play any VR game ever made. And second of all, it’s a fraction of the cost. AVP is priced so high it’s gross to even consider buying one.

For some reason people laughed at Google glass. And that was just a pair of glasses. This is a whole VR goggle set with creepy uncanny valley eye display.

Here's a good question comparing other VR/AR sets:

I use the Pico Neo 3 at work and it has built in manually adjustable optical eye correction built into each lens (55-75mm IPD) to correct for each eye's focus.

This allows for others to share / use the same device while manually rotating the adjustment lens.

Why Apple could not do the same is beyond my expectations.

Instead, AVP sells separate Zeiss inserts for optical correction.

IPD is not for correcting eye focus... Apple Vison Pro has 51–75 mm IPD changeable.
EDIT:
IPD is literally the distance between your eyes, as everyone has eyes laid out differently far or closer to each other.

I had a quest 2. I used it heavily for the first few months, and it basically sat untouched for a year until I gifted it to my nephew for Christmas. That is honestly my biggest hesitation with the APV. I know I would use it like crazy at first, but $3500 isn’t chump change if it meets the same fate as the quest. I decided to wait for reviews and go from there.

The most appealing thing to me is movies, but I already have a home theater. If I didn’t have that, I wouldn’t have even hesitated and bought it.
Reviews are going to eviscerate this thing. There's a reason Apple hasn't let anyone explore Vision Pro, only allowing guided tours with a lame backseat driver and ruining the discovery experience. Apple intentionally didn't want anyone having the discovery experience. Everyone would instantly figure out that "thing" they tried to go test doesn't work or isn't supported on Vision Pro. I expect every reviewer to come with a long list of "can'ts" day one. There's going a be a ton of "If wonder if this works...nope. I wonder if I can do...oh nevermind. Ok, but what about...oh, only under certain circumstances I guess"

I have a PSVR1 and 2 - this is double resolution from PSVR2 and that has me very excited because I do believe it will be that retina experience - PSVR2 looks incredible for games and movies, but text rendering is where is shows it’s only 2K per eye resolution.

I have a quest 3 and don't ever use it. Even at its lighter weight its uncomfortable for more than 30 minutes for me. It's ultimately why I decided to cancel my Vision Pro order. To me its just not something that I will ultimately use once the novelty wears off.

Multiple windows from the apps opened in the Vision Pro sure it's obvious from the start, but it doesn't say anything about multiple windows (here monitors) when connecting to Mac. The Vision Pro's apps are like iPads and iPhone, and when doing the real job people use MacBook - coding etc.
I don’t know I thought the apps displayed in the VP were pretty feature rich tbqh…

I've had both and currently have the Meta 3, love it, especially with watching movies with my buddy in Bigscreen. I also have PSVR2 but selling that currently

quest 2 here. hated how clunky it was, and the resolution was ehhh at best. i did feel fatigue after wearing for a while, so hoping the vision pro is better, but something tells me it will be equal that department.

Have you read the specs on the screens? There’s no comparing them to the quest. That’s what you’re paying for

I have a Quest 2 that I used mainly for Supernatural VR workouts. I've used it less and less because I never found any other use for it and I started to get bored by the music selection in Supernatural.

I'm mainly a fan of 70s and 80s rock and there isn't (or wasn't - haven't checked in a while) much variety in those playlists.

I have a Quest 1. Can't manage to watch a video for more than 5 minutes on it due to low quality let alone read text..

Hope the AVP is a literal 10x+ on that. If watching movies isn't somewhere on par with a 4k OLED then I think the first version would be a failure

Me too. Bought quest 2 to play games and explore vr. Ended up bored with the games and really disappointed with the movie/video/tv experience. Explored further and found beat saber. Further and found supernaturalvr. This is the reason I still use quest. This workout (ok cardio) is so addictive I play listening to my own music. Give it a try.
