With the Library install at 9.3 gigs how many of you trim down your OS X install to conserve space?

Isnt windows XP much smaller install size?

I am not complaining, just trying to learn why ours is so big..is it because of all the drivers?

It's bigger for several reasons, one of which is the bundled iLife apps. GarageBand and iDVD support files can take up close to 4-5 GB between them. Printer drivers can also be close to 2 GB.

I only trim my install on iBook Dual USB, as it only has a 10 GB hard drive. I've got the install down around 3.5 GB, which is fine with me.

When I first got my MBP I did to get rid of the extra languages and printer drivers. And GarageBand. Oh yeah, and to repartition. :)

I trim down to just over 1.5gigs (10.3, so down from the neighborhood of 3). There is a bunch of crap you probably don't need on those things.
