I have a 13" Base (see sig) but would like to get a 15" for the missus as she would benefit from a larger screen.

She is using an ASUS that we only bought her about 4 months ago, and we realised this morning it has been nearly 4 weeks since she touched it.

We might look at upgrading next March or so...

Bought my first mac machine 4 months ago (MacBook Pro 15). This weekend I built my first Dell mini 10v hackintosh running 10.6.3, for websurfing and xcode development.. For the purpose of this poll does that also count?:D

what did you think about the envy?

Don't have an Envy, thinking of selling my current MBP for one. Played with an Envy 14 at work the other day for a while, it seems actually quite great (build quality/feel really surprised me). Seriously considering it. Put some serious thought into it, really the only thing I'd miss from this MBP is the multi-touch controls on the trackpad. OS X is nice and all, but Win 7 is just as great IMO.

it looked cool but i would not buy an notebook that was not made by apple.

I'm surprised you say that. I've also tried an Envy in real life. Simply put it a cheap knock off of the MBP's look.

It's extremely easy to see the difference in build quality between the two.

HP Envy is a very poor purchase imo.

You're probably talking about the old one, the new one released recently is quite a bit different (14 at least). Sure it's easy to notice the difference in build quality, but that's not to say the new Envy 14s BQ is bad, because it simply isn't. Only thing I didn't like about the Envy 14 I tried was the glossy screen, I will never understand why people like mirrors for displays.

well a year ago i bought my girlfriend a 13'' MBP. and last month i bought myself a 15'' MBP....so technically i own 2 :D

I have two; one of them is a Early 2008 model which I don't use anymore (it's more of a backup). I would like a 13", but I would need it to have a faster processor. I don't really care about the GPU as much.

surprised by the results/

That a lot people only have one or that a lot more than you would think have more than one?

wish I had that kind of money
so many on here act like they have multiple machines and have added all upgrades. maybe thats just the vocal minority.

Just one. I really don't see the point of owning more than one.
this.

(see sig. for specs)

Not trying to be a smart [censored] and I know Im a new around here, but....

Ever consider that some people actually have a use for more than one. I have two. A late '09 15" 2.8 that Im typing on right now, and my wife, who helps with my work has a mid '10 13" MBP.

Im fixing to pick up four iPads too, work related. Trying to implement a field data collection system with them.

Lots of times its more than just bragging rights.
