Wondering if people are using screen protectors on their laptops or not using them at all?

I have never used a screen protector for my laptop. I don't see the need for one. Using one would probably prevent the ability to close the laptop without causing damage to the screen, keyboard, or both, seeing how the tolerance level is so microscopic.

If I were doing a presentation where I had to share the screen with a room full of people... sure. Or if the laptop was a media server in a dedicated media room. But a projector in lieu of the screen... what would be the point?

He is asking about a screen protector not a projector.

I've never felt the need to put a screen protector on mine. I've got a 6 year old MBP without a single scratch or scuff on the screen.

Just by virtue of how I use a laptop, it never gets scratched. When I'm operating it, it's on a desk or my lap & never in a high-risk situation where it's susceptible to scratches. When I'm not, the lid is always closed.

I use the Belkin TruePrivacy glare and privacy filter on my Macbook Pro.

The Macbook glass screen reflects too much sunlight and the Belkin filter almost eliminates the reflection as well as providing security as it can't be seen at an angle.

I have used them on my 13", 15" and 16" MBP...

For some definitions of angles…

I've been looking for a 4way privacy screen for my MBP16; but all of the ones I found (including the Belkin) were only 2way, and most of them also skewed the color spectrum away from blue.

never heard of a screen protector for a laptop... heard of privacy filters but never used one. I didn't think they made screen protectors for laptops because of well it closes up and the screen doesn't seem exposed to damage in transport.

After much research I would never fit a screen protector to MacBook. Ill take my chances with the odd finger print around the edges.

iPad and iPhone ....yes; makes cleaning SO much easier . Laptop? Never/ever in decades. One of the reasons why I would never buy a touch-screen laptop. Especially so since our recent pandemic and other germ issues.

Edit: Also, once left a 6S on my roof and pulled at a good clip out of a park...phone went off with such force it dented my trunk lid before bouncing down the road. The 'glass/plastic' screen protector shattered .... the screen underneath was pristine! Will always place one on the phone!!!

Keyboard cover yes --since finally got tired of wearing down letter markings on most frequently used keys-- screen protector no since I don't travel with the laptop in use, so no fellow-traveler privacy issues. I do take the kb cover off when done for the day or otherwise closing it up, as I'm not 100% sure about clearance and don't want the screen marked by kb cover.
