People quite often think the irish are daft. I think that should be changed to Irish people who use PC's are daft :)

I have converted 6 previously daft Irish people. Now they have saw the light :)

Mac's rule ......... OK

Dave ;)

This sounds exactly like my parents

I'm slowly bringing my dad along, though. Hooked up a mighty mouse for him and he said "Great! Now I can finally scroll! If they'd only put a right-click on there, it'd be perfect!" At which time I pointed out that there was a right-click. "How do I do it?" "Just right-click."

*click*

"How does it know?".

this just made me laugh so f***ing hard. When I use apple I feel like a magician. Its like you always have another card to pull out of your sleeve. My mom was asking how to import photos, wanting me to help her, and just had her camera sitting on her desk for 3 weeks. I finally just said "have you even plugged it in yet?" at which point she did, and started freaking out on the phone

"omg the program just launched automatically and now its asking me if I want to import photos, what do I do!?"

"yeah, hit import"

"ooooommmmmmmmmggg thats soooooo easy!!!!"

"yeah i know mom"

"so how do i email them to aunt betty?"

"hit the button that says email mom"

"ooooooommmmmmmmmggggggg hoooooooooow cooooooooool"

"yeah i know mom"

I think people coming from a PC world have this misconceptions that things like this are supposed to be hard and require multiple steps and software installs and all that.

The term I use when trying to sway someone to a mac is "they're complicatidly simple." somehow they manage to take otherwise intricate tasks (relative to a new user) and make them a 2 button process. Only apple can do this.

I've converted 5 or 6 people, this year.
I always get a couple people every year that are like, "how do you make stuff so easy" or "why don't I know what's going on with my computer" but my favorite of all is when I tell them that in six years I have never had a virus, spyware or OS reinstall. Some Winfan boys always call me a liar, but I know it's all true, and so do all you. :D

Two so far. But I know of other people who would love to get a Mac, but can't afford one at the moment.

I converted my mom when we got her an iMac G4 for Christmas. 11 months later I converted myself and bought a PowerBook G4. 2 years later I bought a PowerMac G5. 1 month later I converted my sister to the new iMac Core Duo. 6 months later I bought a Mac mini Core Duo. 1 month later my sister got a MacBook. Then three months later, we got my mom a MacBook to replace her aging G4. Woo, 6 CPU sales for Apple in < 4 years!

My librarian at my high school switched after she saw I owned a PowerBook. My Grandma and Aunt are switching in the next few months. We're getting my Grandpa a Mac soon. 2 of my sister's friends have switched. It's like contagion. No, it is contagion.

I converted my GF , She still owns a dell but she prefers to use my ibook. As an aspiring engineer and programming student i cant say i am pleased with Xcode though. Will be making a thread about it soon.
