OP if you can't reach the key pad on your iPad have you tried the split keyboard functions? place your thumbs on each side of the key board and swipe outwards, the keypad will split

This is my preferred method of typing on the iPad! I'm quick enough on it to where I don't feel a need for a keyboard. I mean I can see the need if I was a college student, using it to take notes and type essays, but I'm out of school
