How many purchsed Vidyo?

Back in January 2016 a developer released an app that allowed you to record video of what was on your iPhone's screen. That app was Vidyo. Apple ended up pulling the app for reasons. The app worked fine up until a couple months ago. I'm not sure if the app was updated to remove the functionality or what. I'm curious to know if anyone knows more and how many purchased the app. I contacted the developer and he's offering no assistance.

It was never updated. The backend server was shut off to sway people away from the illegal versions of it (with added malware) floating around.

So the servers were necessary to record video on my own screen?
