Never even opened Apple headphones after three iPhones. They look very uncomfortable. I use Bose Mobile phones. Excellent.

I bought some Ultimate Ears MetroFi 220s about 5 months ago, and haven't looked back, they are fantastic!

I just got a pair of these, and love them. I haven't even used the apple ones since my iPod touch 2g. The apple ones hurt my ears a lot after a half hour of use.

i use the original Apple in-ears. got them in 2005 i think. first with my iPod 3rd gen, then with my 2nd gen iPod touch, now with my iPhone 4. i sold my touch with unused ear buds and i've used the ones that came with my iPhone once or twice.

i'll eventually upgrade to the new version w/ mic & remote.

Have not even taken them out the box to look at, not in my 3G, 3GS or 4.

I've had a set of sennheiser cx300ii for about 18 months now and there as good as new. Before them I had the mx55's which lasted a few years.

I might go try the apple ones out, are they any good?!

Just one set, the ones that came with my iPhone 3G. Lasted about a year then they started having problems with the mic button.

Bought NuForce NE-7s and have been extremely happy with them.

Most people think they aren't too good but they sound fine to me. Plus they're the only earbuds that I can use for hours without making my ears hurt.

I had all 4 iphone designs and each time only went through the original pair except the 3gs i wore out the volume button on 1 pair.

on avg i use my headphone 2-3hrs a day every day. i

Thanks a lot jerks

no wonder apple accessories are so freaking expensive

how about learning to take care of your stuff/not being OCD about it

There is no reason you should be destroying a pair of headphones every week

The headphones, mass produced, cost no more than a dollar to produce.

The only problem I have is with the gray rubber falling apart. I'm keep them in my backpack so they aren't abused. I haven't had any problems from the speakers or the mic. The ones that came with my 3G still work but I replaced them with the new ones from the ip4.

I use them until they inevitably bite the dust then I move onto some other good cheap pair like KOSS. My latest pair didn't even die from overuse, they were snapped off in my tire spokes.

Buy a bunch cheap on eBay

I just bought a handful of iPhone headsets off eBay shipped from Hong Kong. They claim to be authentic apple ones - they look like and function/sound the same to me, but cost only $2.99/ea shipped. So what the heck, i bought 3 pairs. Arrived in less than a week.

I don't see how people keep going through their headphones so fast. I've used the same pair of headphones since April 09 and they still seem brand new. I guess I must not use them as much as the people who go through them so fast :p

lol if you actually believe that those are real....

I love them but they only last like 6 months. They are perfect for where I work because I have to wear ear plugs.

To be fair they are played at Maximum Volume for at least 6-8 hours over 42 week.

So I try to pick use a brand new set at BST forums/craigslist for $15 CAN.

You'd think that with as much dope as Steve has smoked over the years, he'd be more respectful of something named "buds."

Apple's are far, far, FAR and away the worst I've encountered. They are clearly designed to combine the worst possible fit, the worst possible sound, and the color white, and an insulting price. Mission accomplished, Apple!

That said, I use the ones that came with the iPhone 4 anyway, because of that nifty microphone built in. Turns out that, at least once a day, I get INTERRUPTED while listening to music by a PHONE CALL. Inconsiderate idiots.

But I really like the way that the iPhone fades the music down and pauses it, lets me talk, then when I hang up on those idiots, it fades the music back up and lets me get back to the music. Lordy knows I didn't buy this thing to talk on the phone.

So are there better-sounding, better-fitting earbuds that have a built-in mic? Bonus points for not being in white.

There's a whole bunch now. The apple earbuds aren't really that bad though imo. Have you ever used skullcandy? Those things are bad. For the $29 that the apple ones are priced at you are pretty much getting the standard as far as quality. If you want something better you're going to end up paying more

I dont use the headphones that come with the phone/iPod. I dont like em.

I have 4 others that i use but mostly use the Skull Candy earbuds.
