938 songs so far. Unfortunately I ended up downloading a song off of Gnutella last night. I haven’t touched P2P in about 7 months for music but there is no way in hell I'm paying 15 bucks for a CD when all I want is one single song off the soundtrack. I will continue to replace the 6,000+ pirated songs with legit ones as time goes on but if the RIAA, the artists, and their agents are going to be ***es about providing their ENTIRE collection to iTMS, Napster, and the like.... screw it I will continue to steal.

PS- I didn't even have to compromise in sound quality. The track was in original WAV format. I simply encoded it into AAC.

Bought one song twice by accident (using two precious credits!)

thats weird, i did the same thing, but when i clicked to buy it the second time it said i already puchased that song (and i think it gave me the option to cancel or continue. . . were you just clicking too fast?!)

but right now i have. . . wow, good number 42. . . most from gift certificates 2 from pepsi caps and i still have 4 more pepsi caps left. . . . i got 6 caps and 6 winners. . . . tehe. . . its not stealing though.

i have gotten i think three songs in not so legitimate ways because they WER NOT ON ITUNES!!! and my list of NOT ON ITUNES is growing all the time. even from bands like areosmith which have lots of songs on iTunes. . . they do something dumb like not release albums that are earlier than a certain date. . . :-/

Can you guess why? I'll give you a clue - geography...

As my Quebecois brethern would say "Moi aussi!" Waiting for a iTMS to open here in Canada has been painfull. I sympathize with you guys on the other side of the pond.

Yeah, that's the problem I have: much of the stuff I'd really like to dig into (and get the people-also-bought recommendations on!) isn't on iTunes, or any other legitimate service. And there's some stuff that you'd think would be there, and isn't. So for those, I've finally had to give up and go elsewhere.

But I've bought over 100 songs from iTunes, none in albums, and redeemed about 10 Pepsi codes (my friend was saving them for me but got distracted by the birth of his first daughter :) ).

i'd say 50% of the music i want is not on iTunes. iTunes is for the MTV, POP, radio songs. Not if your looking for some real hardcore music from any genre
