I've got a friend at work looking to buy my 3GS - it was in apparently perfect condition until today - and now the mute button rocker switch is playing up - you only to touch it and it's on/off/on/off, weird!
Luckily I extended my Applecare to Nov 2011 and so I'm off to Covent Garden, London tomorrow to hopefully get it replaced.
I was thinking of asking £150 for my 3GS when I upgrade to the 5 anyway - to answer the question.

In my city, once you open the box, you might as well knock $200-$250 off the resale price. You can get about $400 for a 16GB in mint condition here.

I'm not. I was going to sell it to one of those "we'll buy your phone off you" sites, like I have done for the last 2 iPhones, got around £230 for my 1yr old 3GS from memory.
