Those who have sold or are currently selling your MBP, how much are you guys getting? Im having a hard time getting $850 for mine.

Why sell the 2010 13in Macbook pro it's good and, there's no way you would recover all your money. So, why not use it for couple of years at least you would get your money worth out of it.

Well, I did get my money back on my 2010 MBP from last May.
I originally had € 200 off of it and I got € 950 for it (over here it costs € 1149).

Yours is the base 09, right? Problem is the base 10 2.4 is 930 via Apple refurbished, so 70 for a generation older plus out of warranty (unless you have AC) is a tough sell IMHO.

Check eBay's completed auctions to see where auctions are ending for your machine.

I'm not selling mine. The new updates are pretty insignificant (13" wise).
Plus, I'm not the person who would sell their computer even after a "big" update. I'm planning on keeping this for years to come.

Right now I'm encoding a movie on my laptop. It works fine.

sound advice

Sold mine for $1000CAD 3 days ago. Seems like people on kijiji/craigslist are still trying to get $1100-$1200 for them even with the new MBP's release.

What were the details? I have the 13" 2010 base model: 2.4ghz, 250GB HD, 4GB, which I got late Sept/Oct. If I could get 1,000 I'd strongly consider upgrading to the new 13" base -- but not too sure, certainly not on eBay.

I just sold a brand new 13" for 1073$ on ebay with free shipping.

it was brand new only out of box for a split second to assure it works at the genius bar.

Thought about selling mine but changed my mind. The upgrades are not worth the sales headache and buying another machine. Especially after I upgraded my late 2010 to 8GB of memory and a larger hard drive.

I am sorry, but I am not selling my 13 inch 2010 MBP for this 2011 model one. Thunder bolt is not proven yet and that intel HD 3000 will not get into my house.

wow how are people getting that much? Brand new is only 1090 with edu discount and many other discounts. I guess you save on tax...

I'm trading my mid 2010 mbp (13' 250gb 4gb ram) for a 15" i5 500gb 4gb ram with 550 top up this weekend.

how are you doing this?

Just have to look hard. That's an okay deal. I recently tracked a 15 down with i7 2.66ghz, 4g ram, warranty for a few more months, high res antiglare matt display with some accessories like in case hardshell, trackpad cover, etc. for $1600. if you are able to sell the 2010 MBP for $1000-1100 which in Socal is very possible to do in less than a week, you're about $500-600 cash up top. Less for an i5. But then again, the above deal isn't an everyday thing, you gotta track those down.

kettlecorn is right, I tracked down the fella from a tech forum and I must say I'm really lucky he's only had it for a few months. His set is in impeccable condition with only 18 cycles on the batt and still a few more months of warranty (which allows me to pick up Applecare). I've just transferred my 8GB OWC ram and Mercury Pro SSD and am migrating my data over. It's my first 15" and it feels wonderful.

sold my 2010 13" base model for $980 w applecare and my speck case. got what i wanted for it (and still *made* money since i bought it used for a good price :p)

/edit
sold locally on craigslist - only took a few days. had it listed for $1050. if it didnt have apple care i probably would have hoped for $850.

I sold my 2010 2.4ghz 13" mbp, 4gb ram and a 250gb external hd for $1050 on thursday. I just sold it through an online classifieds from our local news station. It tends to trump craigslist for our area with no fees involved. I got back exactly what I had into it when I bought it in July last year.

It really depends on the market. I live in a college town with a bunch of kids that have no money. I got $750 for my 2010 13", although it was almost a year old. I didn't really care as thats all I needed for my upgrade, but I definitely felt like it was worth more.

I just bought the 2.4c2d 2010mbp 6 weeks old with 10battery cycles and 10months applecare for £650.
