But I’m guessing that the 12 Pro will perfume better in night mode than the 11 pro / Max right ? I always thought might mode on the 11 pretty good!

Probably. The faster lens will also have an impact for sure.
But in the end we don't know how much of the improvements are based on hardware or software.

Yes, but the 12Pro (non max) has LiDAR too, so they have the same depth information to render the fake bokeh.

Yeah, I realise that. My wording didn't make it clear...the only differences between the 12Pro and Max Bokeh would be marginal gains that are sensor related (image stabilisation etc).

Agreed. I'd expect better night mode due to Lidar and processing improvements. Night mode still blows my mind.

Yeah! It’s much better that Samsung I think

Came on here looking for just such a debate, this photographers review of the pro says

The iPhone 12 Pro is a solid camera, and thanks to a bunch of new digital tech I found it to be slightly stronger than the already great iPhone 11 Pro — but if you are serious about photography with your iPhone, wait for the iPhone 12 Pro Max. It looks to be the most significant jump in iPhone camera hardware we’ve experienced in years, and it’s only three weeks away.

He‘s been paid (or at least, invited) to say that by Apple, of course...

Yes, but the Pro Max zooms further, which is the main point of a telephoto lens.

going from 52mm to 65mm is not about reach, it’s about perspective...and even there it is not much. If it were 85mm or 200mm then it would be a big deal. I’d prefer a little more light at ~50.
