Admitting to myself that I do not need to rob a bank or borrow money from near dead relatives to get a MBP (although it's bitchin'), I decided 512 RAM is too little for my Photoshoppy taste, so I want to upgrade my current iBook. My question is how much I would gain when I have my Ultrasharp 2005 FPW hooked as an external display (yes, I used spanning Doctor). Exposé is really laggy due to the 32 MB vram, so would it be unlaggable if I went to 1.5 GB RAM?

Any experiences?

tell us how much memory is being used in activity monitor. If it is like 15.2MB free then more RAM would speed up expose and photoshop noticably.

It's definetely down there :)

Having more screen estate kind of makes you keep more apps open naturally ^_^
