I wouldn't be surprised to see it near $300 or over. Not sure if I'll buy one, I've never worn a watch before as I don't see the need but I'll be interested to see what it does.

I think the upper models will go that high, but it's going to be hard to make this product seem like a good deal at such a high price.

Well over $300 (it's Apple) ;)

But with an iPad being $329, it might be hard to justify a price that high.

Its easily justifiable. The fact that so many have already "guessed" that price is proof enough. Apple sells products, not material. The iPad's material price tag (cellular) is higher then that of an iPhone, yet its cheaper. That simply because of supply and demand.

People looking to buy an iWatch aren't going to be comparing it to an iPad. They will be comparing it to other smart watches. And when they see its much more functional then the competition they will understand why its more expensive.

That is like saying "But with the MacBook Air 128GB being $899, it might be hard to justify an iPad Air 128GB for 799". Its two different markets, tablets and computers. However I have to say after typing that I may consider looking into MacBook Air's before I buy my next iPad LOL.

I think that analyst was right. There will be a $1,000 model, but there will also be a cheap ($99-$199) model and plenty in between.

The primary differences between different price points will be design and materials. Remember, this is the company that charged an extra $150 for a black MacBook over an otherwise-identical white model.

It wouldn't shock me if Apple stocked 5-10 SKUs in retail stores, all under $300, but also had an expansive BTO selection available online.
