I wonder what the 2018 lineup looks like. Does the X replace the 8 and the X plus replace the 8 plus price wise? I can't see the X still costing 1k+ USD and then a larger version costing 1200+ USD. They wouldn't do that, would they? Phone prices are getting retarded.

The XI will cost $1,000.00 and the XI Plus will be $1,100.00. According to my anonymous source, Apple executives are tired of pricing phones a dollar less than round numbers.

In Australia, the x Plus will cost $2000 for the highest end model, GST included. Twice expensive as my current PC but do way less than my PC can do. Sounds like a nice infestment.

Are you saying it will be buggy? 😀

Where’s the poll? Are we running out things to talk about already? It’s only been a week.

Maybe someone should start an X vs. Plus thread.

Or how about “what will the X Plus “gate” be?

Or how bout “what glass screen protector are u guyZ getting for your iPhone 19?

🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄

I was also thinking about this. I’m guessing more like $1350-$1450 for the plus size 256g and $1200-$1300 for the 64g plus size.

I’m guessing that they will go down in price since you aren’t paying for 2018s device and they will have a much bigger supply of screens.

My 256GB X with Apple care was hovering to the tune of just about $1,500...lmaooo!

I mean how much higher do they want to go? We're getting into Mac book territory.

I don't see apple lowering any prices what so ever...I think the Xs will be right where the X is and the Xs plus will probably be $100-200 higher. Honestly it's not even worth getting worked up about..people will order, line up, etc. Most likely me included...lol

What I will say is this...if apple is going to roll with prices this high...I want a friggin fast charger with my phone. Enough with the brick that takes me 3 hours to change a phone that has fast charge technology.

I actually expect to see a decrease in the price of the non plus model and the plus model to come in at or very close to the price of the current X. It definitely depends on whether they can decrease the cost of production.

Yeah, streamline the hardware development. $2000 AUD each time for small improvement. What a pricy subscription.
One day we might see $7000 USD top tier iphone and people will continue buying them like crazy.

When the iPhone X Plus does launch, it will easily be $100-$150 more than the 5.8 model, just going based off the price difference of where the iPhone Plus is currently.

Probably a similar price difference as currently. People have voted with their wallets and $1000 dollar phones are now in. Next up, the $1200 baseline Plus model!

HAHA, since when does Apple pass savings down to its customers?
When they have an amp,e supply of screens. They don’t this year and this isn’t considered a 2017 phone by Apple. They consider this to be the 2018 model released 10 months earlier. They are supply constrained.

it will be expensive.
and i guess they'll keep the 8 (or 8S/9) as a new "entry" level phone, cheaper than the X lineup.

in 2018:
6S: gone
7: takes 6S place
8: prices as the 7 now
8S/9: new 8

Xs/X 2017: same as the X nowadays
X Plus/Pro: at least +100 than the smaller X

I doubt they will ever release a new phone with a LCD screen. Nobody is buying the 8 so why would Apple even make a single new version of it. They can no longer justify even $699 for what’s essentially a 7 with a new processor. I doubt they will go back to a $699 price for a X, but they can’t get away with a lack of supply excuse again like this year.

maybe... but they'll want to cater for the mid-higher buyers. the X is a niche, for now. next year will still be a niche.
and it's also cheaper for them to build a 8S/9 and get a huge profit out of it. people will still want a TouchID phone, with a familiar design. Sure, they wont be selling them by the millions, but still...

Why would the X be a niche product? It is one this year due to screen production limitations. Supposedly they will have full production for the screens so that won’t be an issue. Right now they have reduced production of the 8 and appear they will do the same with the 8 plus. It is not in their benefit to keep multiple different phones in production especially ones that aren’t selling at all when brand new. There is no reason to develop phones with technology that Apple feels is no longer relevant such as TouchID and bezels. The design is still similar. It really has never changed except for phones getting bigger. If people want a TouchID phone they will still be able to get the 8 for a reduced price. Just like it is every year. They aren’t going to throw money at it, though. The 8 is the single phone that Apple has released that people haven’t bought in great numbers. The only there is even an 8 is due to market limitations of OLED screens.

If I were to hazard a guess, maybe 1,200 for the base model of the X+

Of course, these are just wild guesses, we really have no idea about a possible X plus never mind its price.

Besides, wouldn't next year be a XI and XI+?

As of now, the X feels like a Pro line-up. The normal ones (8/8S/9/9S) will be like the MacBook Air and the next year downgraded to “MacBook” territory.
I might be wrong, but I think the X will always be the top of the line, more expensive phone, targeted to tech-savvy consumers.
For the average consumer, the 8 is more than enough and they won’t understand why the X is more expensive. This is what I see from comments from coworkers and friends.

The average consumer is staying away from the 8. It’s a non-seller. They are buying the X in droves. Apple is not going to support a device that’s not being bought and nobody is buying the 8. The 8+ is selling only because there isn’t a plus version of the X. X is the top of the line. It has the future of the iPhone in it not the 5th generation of a tired line. The cost this year is do to supply limitations and the tenth anniversary. If there weren’t supply issues then the 8 would be the X. They could issue a “pro” model that would include a stylus and PIP. That would please the tech-savvy consumers. But upgrading a phone that’s not selling is bad business practice.

$1199. Or maybe they'll drop the price of iphone x to $899 and make the X plus $999. But Apple is greedy these days so it's unlikely.
