how much does 2008 Mac book (pro?) worth?

my friend who just graduated university is trying to sell it. it's in perfect working order but don't know the detail. how much can he ask for to sell it?

As a starting point, you can check Mac2Sell, eBay (including completed sales), and Amazon for prices of similar models, to get an idea of what a reasonable price may be. Then adjust the price to account for condition, configuration, remaining AppleCare coverage (if any), etc.

when you sell, what are the things to consider? I mean how go you wipe out clean HD etc?
