It should be noted that all the tear down valuations are purely based on the component costs and normally an unrealistic estimate of labour.
They don’t even include any cost of the machinery used in their production let alone any of the R&D, marketing or selling and distribution costs.
The only thing I think these are useful for is understanding how much we get ripped off when paying for repair costs.
