Wondered what the setting to allow display to go dim before it goes to sleep accomplishes in energy savings? For that matter does anyone know how many watts you save if you allow your display to go dark after 10 minutes?

iMac 27 mid2010 i5 QuadCore 2.8 GHz: with the monitor off save around 100W (40-50W off and 140-150W display on. Depends on the system load)

around 65-70W with lowest brightness (that is the same as "automatically reducte the brightness…etc.." in energy setting)

When the screen goes dim, I save about 10W on my 17" iMac (TN display).

    It looks cool. Nothing more.

Zero to next to zero. LED's consume very little power.
