Just wondering how much free space everyone leaves on the iPhones for app downloads and taking photos/videos. I currently have about 4GB free, and I'm wondering if I should take off some music to free up some more space. I'd hate to be out somewhere and not have enough room to shoot a video.

Thoughts?

I have 1.13 GB free and I have everything I want on there, perfect for now but I will have to go with 32 GB with the iPhone 5

Ideally, I like to keep between 4-6GB of free space available on my iPhone. However, I currently have 20GB free. Although I am in the process of putting the majority of my music collection on my iPhone since it's the only "iPod" I own.

I have a 16GB iPhone 4 and currently have ~6GB free however this will probably shrink by at least a few GB over the next couple of months as I add more music to Spotify and sync it offline. I have ~2GB used on 2 TV shows that I got free over Xmas/New year and as I don't watch shows on my phone I could clear these off if I need the space. ~6GB is used for apps (some of the larger being the 5 games I have which I can clear off as I complete them). 16GB is workable for me but next time round I may opt for 32GB+ so that I don't have to worry about space.

Right now i have my entire music collection on my Iphone - about 20GB. But since I spend most of the day at my desk, online, I can see how these new cloud music services would make it easier to keep less music on the phone.

That's what I love about Spotify - I can Sync (offline) up to 3,333 tracks on to my iPhone and stream an unlimited amount after that. If I sync my full allocation of 3,333 tracks on to my iPhone that will take up to ~16GB (That's why I wouldn't mind a 32GB+ next time round) and I could still listen to other music if I felt the need, by streaming if in a good network area.

I try to keep about 3GB free at all times. This is enough space to update the largest apps on my phone (TomTom/Infinity Blade/Puzzle Quest II…)

Luckily you're in a country that HAS spotify...

I'll be interested to see how the rumored iCloud service integrates into the existing iPod app. I wonder if the local and cloud-stored songs will live seamlessly together, or if there's a totally separate app for streaming.

Need a new option: however much is left. Seriously, I don't manage the space at all. If I fill up then I remove things. Since a lot of it is video the space drops as I watch things (since I sync only new items).

14.5/32GB as of righT nowt. Normally it hovers around 7-10Gb free. I might consider going 16gb on my next phone

1.45GB free out of 32

I keep a couple movies, a season of TV, and 300 albums. That leaves me at least 1GB free, which is the minimum I like to have.

ive got a 32 and i try to leave 0-1 Gb's free. just incase i have the urge to download any large apps.

I hope a 64Gb comes out next as my music takes up most of my space.

I was down to 600MB/32GB the other day and it wasn't performing very well.I had a tidy up of some images and videos and got rid of some Music as well and am now back up to 1.4GB :)

I have about 13 GB free on a 32 GB one. Got couple of movies and rest is all photos and music

I have 3GB left on my 16GB iPhone 4. I'll run out at about the time the iPhone 5 comes out & just upgrade to the 32GB.

0.2 out of 16 (14) GB is available on mine.

My music library would easily fill up my entire iPhone, so I have a rotation system with SmartPlaylists for that. I have 6 GB of audio, 6 GB of video, and the rest are apps and photos.

On a 16GB iPhone 4, I currently have:

0.89 GB Audio
1.89 GB Photos
7.3 GB Apps
0.03 GB Books
1.21 GB Other
2.8 GB Free

Navigon and Infinity Blade take up a decent chunk of that 7.3 GB of apps, and the reason I have so much in the way of photo storage is because I currently have my iPhone set to upload via iPhoto, and then sync everything back. I'm thinking about changing that to something a little more restrictive. It's nice to have my phone as a digital photo wallet, but it's starting to eat a decent chunk of storage.

More than 6, and it is not because I don't have any more. I have a TON of content I could put on there. I like to run it lean as I think my ip4 runs better that way.
