how much storage is used by ios 9.1 on ipad pro?

I have seen some pictures of the 128gb having 114gb of free storage out of the box. So it takes 14gb of storage?
Does this mean the 32gb has 18gb of free storage out of the box?

I think that' s weird. The more storage you buy, the more free storage is " eaten" by the os.
Currently use 15gb of storage on my ipad air2.
32gb will be enough for me if the free storage on the 32gb pro is 27gb.
Rather have a pen or keyboard cover instead of the 128gb.

Can anyone else confirm the free storage on the 32gb is 27gb?

I hope this will answer the question.

No it's not due to the OS, it's because of the way space is calculated by a device. 1000kb is considered 1MB by us humans. it actually takes 1024KB to make up 1mb from the perspective of the computer (due to the base 2 system).1GB is not 1000MB but 1024MB. You see what's going on here? The more space that is advertised, the more that is lost due to the calculation difference.

ddrulez: 14.7GB used, 11.6 free. I assume that includes all the standard Apple apps (GarageBand, iMovie, Keynote etc)? And have you added any media (music, photos, videos, apps)?

My 32GB iPad Pro is currently showing (via Settings:General:Storage and iCloud Usage) 12.1GB used and 14.1GB available, but iTunes reports 16.85GB free? I don't know why these are different...

I have deleted GarageBand and iMovie (I have never used them) which frees up about 1.4GB. Keynote, Pages and Numbers occupy about 1.3GB, and my other apps take up 2.3GB - mainly MS Office. I have about 1GB of Docs loaded, 3.4GB video (a couple of movies) and 0.6GB music and 0.8GB 'other' - I assume this includes the apps Apple won't let you delete (iBook, Find My Friend, Podcasts etc).

So I think if you were to delete all the deletable Apple apps you would have over 25GB free.

Yes, i think the point ddrulez was making with his screenshot was that if you add the used and free space together, it's 27.3gb.

Yes!

And if it helps someone here are my apps.

I bought the 32 GB Gold hoping to really depend on the cloud (iCloud, OneDrive, Box), but I'm surprised how quickly the available space burned up. Yes, losing the Apple Apps definitely helps, but if you have any media and substantial apps beyond MS Office that you have come to depend on, it's a tight fit. If you're used to having any of your photos or videos handy, you're going to be constantly checking the available gauge. I could see it working for folks who are all work, but I still have some personal stuff that I want nearby. 128 GB, here I come.
