I'm guessing:

Music: $1,000 +/- maybe a few hundred

TV Shows: can't even guess or total it. I currently have 3160 TV episodes and thats only what I have kept. I deleted Lost, 24 and a few other series.

Movies: I have 239 movies. Most bought at $10, I never pay more that $10 for HD movies so less than $2390. I buy one or two movies each week.

Also, I don't pay for cable or satellite so iTunes is where I buy everything I watch. I usually spend less per month than what I paid for satellite.

Seriously why would anyone care how much a stranger on the internet spent on iTunes? These polls are just ridiculous. Another winning thread brought to you by jondunford.

I am very sorry for creating this useless thread

I am also sorry for wondering how much others spend on iTunes - I did not realise that if you were not interested I should not be either

I have also sent you a private message as a further apology

Ignore them.

You made a post out of curiosity, you were wondering if others' usage and purchase patterns reflected your own, nothing wrong with that and you don't owe anyone an apology for simply asking a question.

I switched over to all Apple gear in February of this year. I buy iTunes gift cards when I see them on sale, and I also have used BestBuy rewards points to buy some at a discount. Since February I have spent $1,060 to get $1,500 worth of iTunes cards. I have $138.93 remaining to spend as of today.

An amount I can easily afford.

In addition, I also find lots of compelling items & content in the Google Play Store.

Nothing beats variety :)

Man, i wished it added it up for you. i don't have a huge amount but going through every little page, unless I missed a better way to do it.

I'd guess between $100-200 easily BUT I don't think I've ever put my CC info in. I have bought iTunes gift cards, received them, and won them multiple times so, in my eyes, i feel like it hasn't been too much.

same

i'm quite curious sad, i went through 27 pages of purchases going back to 2009 when i first started using apple

theres stuff there that i now wouldn't download if someone paid me!

All of my music is purchased, and in "Past Purchases" I have 91 pages.

And I can't say I scrutinize too much over app prices lol.

Easily $3-5000

First iTunes purchase I made was Sonic The Hedgehog for the iPod Nano on October 10th 2008 haha.

If you included Beatport.... oh god.

:p

i'm of a similar opinion on prices, i find it amusing how people have an iPad or iPhone costing (in my country) $1000 or more and they complain about a $1 app :p

Gawd, I hate to think! In earlier years it was primarily music, but now I've gotten into the habit of buying movies and TV episodes so that I can watch them on my iPad..... I hardly ever turn on my television and watch shows when they are broadcast in prime time; instead, it's nice to just be able to buy an episode or two when the mood strikes me. Go figure....

Spent about $800 ever since the iPod touch came out. Would be more but I'm a student so.. Yea xD.

I've spent about $300 across 2 Apple IDs from 2008 to present day.

Holy crap I have spent more than I would have guessed. Since 2008 I have spent a little over $1,200 through iTunes/app store. I don't have cable so I buy some TV shows, I have bought a lot of apps, books and audio books and subscribe to netflix and hulu.

I've switched Apple ID I've used for iTunes in late March this year (went with the iCloud ID to completely distance myself from Google and go all-Apple). Since then I've kept all my receipts in a special folder with automatic filtering.

After adding up all the receipts since the end of March I've spent $644.72 on iTunes, not counting a $27.99/yr iTunes Match subscription. Quite a high amount if you ask me. It also includes 3 season-passes for this year's seasons.

The Apple TV was the biggest killer for me, such a great consumption device that makes picking a film to watch simple.

What bugs me though is when the kids rent a movie from the store that they already own on DVD

Wow. Such Funny. Very Amaze.

This response is so hilarious! HAHAHA

Since 2005, I probably have $5-10k (retail) in purchases. I try to buy itunes cards when they're on sale, so what I've spent out of pocket is about 80% of that.

It'd take too long to add add the purchases up....
