A friend of mine is wanting to upgrade his iMac to the newest version so he's thinking about selling his old one on Craigslist or ebay. It's in good working order (no issues). What are these worth nowadays?:

20" iMac (model 8,1)
2.4GHz Core 2 Duo
1GB RAM
250GB Hard Drive
OSX 10.5.8
Original keyboard/mouse

No software disk or box/packaging

It appears to be the stock low-end iMac that came out in 2008 and was discontinued in 2009. It would need Snow Leopard and more RAM in order to upgrade and get to Mountain Lion, which it could run if it had those two things.

Thanks!

~$350 I'd say. Check mac2sell and see what they say, though.

Mac2Sell has it at $450 but there's no way except maybe on eBay. I was thinking around $300-$325.

I'll let him know if he decides to get rid of it.

Thanks!
