My co-worker told me he has an iPhone 3gs that is water damaged. I told him he might be able to get a little money for it and the new owner would probably take it to Apple to do a $199 exchange. How much money do u think he can fetch for his iPhone 3gs 16gb?

If it were a 32 GB, I'd replace for $199, unlock/jailbreak and eBay it for $450+ (especially as it'd be scratch-free), but I'm not sure about a 16 GB.

depending on how much water got inside, you can just wait for it to dry out, and it will work again. if it was completely submerged, it should take about a month to dry out. It might act a little weird afterwards tho, ymmv.

oh and one more thing, i wouldnt try to turn it on unless u are sure it is dried out for obvious reasons

One smart person has posted, the others 🙄

Why doesn't the person take it back and get a "new" phone and sell it for the extra $$. Why don't you buy it, pay the $ for refurb, sell it and give the guy $199 for it, you keep the rest.

I got $60 or so for mine through http://www.buymytronics.com. They are a legit company here in Denver.
Wow, you really got ripped off.
