How Much Is Your Actual Monthly iPhone Bill? Want To Switch and Need Numbers

Hi All,

I hope this questions hasn't been asked a million times, but after doing a bunch of searching, I never found a single thread that got the facts in one place.

I want to switch to AT&T, as does most of the members of my Verizon family plan. If at all possible I would like for all of us to switch at the same time, but I need to have real numbers in order to convince all members of my family to switch at the same time.

Though the costs are available on AT&T's website, and I have looked at them, I wanted to get real answers from real customers who receive real bills every month.

If everyone could please post their actual, final monthly charges here, it would be really helpful for me, and probably lots of other potential switchers. We would be a family of 5 with 3 iPhones and 2 regular phones, with unlimited texting. I am interested in seeing everyone's situation though, and if anyone has specific advice about the smartest way to do this (any loopholes and or advice about how to best switch) that would also be appreciated.

Well I am on a fan account (19% discount on main line) so my bill comes out at about $138.

It includes 4 lines (9.99 x2 + 59.99) and unlimited texting all lines ($30) and data ($30).

The fan discount basically knocks all the taxes and fees and takes an additional $5-6 bucks off monthly bill.

It is extremely possible either you or your family member goes to a University or works somewhere that is also eligible for a FAN account.
 
$150/month for mine and my wife's iphone

unlim. text, data, and 1400 anytime minutes

my p.o.s samsung instinct with sprint was 110 by itself! im paying less for my iphone and the coverage, customer service, and phone is waaaay better.

Woah awesome. Starting Grad school in a couple of months. Never heard of a fan account.

For a total of $159.98

Figure in taxes and a 25% FAN discount and we pay $145 and some change every month.

how do you sign up for a FAN account? I'm in my last year of Grad School and would love any discount!

Interesting. I would have thought to do the $129.99 family plan for 700 minutes, and then add another dumb phone line for another $10.

You clearly don't need that many minutes, so this is more economical for you. Is this technically a family plan? or can you just add another line to any phone for $10 and then add $30 to make it an iPhone?
 
Mine is over $400 I have 3 blackberry lines with the data plan, and 1 iphone line with data... And 2100 minutes, early nights and weekends, unltd txt, international, etc.. i know :p :D
 
I have the 700 minute family plan with two iphones, unlimited texting on both numbers. after Michigan taxes and all AT&T's charges the bill is $186 and some change.
 
We pay about $239 for 700 Min. 3 iPhone ($30 extra for each iPhone once you have more than 2), $10 for additional line (sister's phone) and $30 for unlimited messaging, PLUS taxes and whatnot.
 
2 lines with 700 shared minutes / unlimited text / data plans for both and we pay 175.00 a month.

I doubt that you have 4 iPhone lines with unlimited messaging and data at that price even with fan discount.

2 iPhones with unlimited data and 700 minutes is $129.99 per month. Unlimited text on both phones on family plan is $30 a month. So you're at $160 a month with two iPhones.

Each additional iPhone is $9.99 plus $30 for data and that's assuming you can keep them all on a 700 minute family plan (pretty tough if there's even one talker in your family).

So, if you had four iPhones the price would be $240 a month before FAN discount.

For the OP the price would be;

3 iPhones with unlimited text and data and 700 minutes family plan = $200 per month.
2 phones = $20 per month.

So, 3 iphones + 2 dumb phones = about $220 per month assuming 700 minute plan (pretty tough for 5 lines) or, more realistically, on a 2100 minute family plan $260 plus taxes.

Ouch.

Thanks, that's pretty similar to the math I had run as well.

Thing is, right now we have 5 dumb phones on Verizon, and we are paying something close to $200/month. I think it's more like $150 or $175, but considering how useless our phones are and the relative cost, it's really not that bad IMO.
 
We have 5 phones, 1400 minutes, 3 data plans, and unlimited family messaging and it's around 240 a month. Pretty much everyone we know has AT&T so we are up to 8000 roll over minutes. I did have it on the 700 minute plan but it wasn't quite enough.
 
A$50. Pre-pay. Gets me more than enough calls and text and data.

I own the phone outright so if something better came along on a different carrier I'd just go over to them.

About $200.

That is for 4 lines, with 1100 minutes, unlimited texts, and two of them are iPhones.

Also includes a 5% FAN discount.
 
$90 flat

I have unlimited everything for $90 a month. I have a hacked iphone and use it on Peoplez Wireless prepaid. Works great and saves me $540 a year.

Tax $13
FAN Discount 10%

$230 AFTER DISCOUNT

My company pays most of my bill so I pay $77.00 in total for all I have the rest is paid by my company.:rolleyes:
 
Mine is around $75 a month with 450 minutes, unlimited text, and 200mb for data. I also get around a 10-15% student discount, I forget the exact number.
