It's disgusting what people pay for data compared to us in Canada. I have 65 dollars a month for the first line with 20gb of data
Wow that is terrible 20gb data for $65, are we living in 2010 🤦‍♂️

Haven’t you guys got cheaper options with different carriers?

20gb data in Australia with the best carrier is $40 a month and the data rolls over every month, there’s better deals as well if you’re willing to go with a different carrier.

Well it's £61 for my 12 pro max and £19 for my Apple Watch. I get unlimited data, unlimited calls and unlimited texts.

We basically have 3 companies in Canada with a monopoly on services. There are smaller independent offerings but they all rent their air time off of the big 3 so pricing isn't going to be drastically different. People have been calling for the federal govnm't to step in and regulate for years. It's been a hot political topic for years.

Feel for you guys, that is disgusting, shows you how corrupt some companies can be.

That's for the handset and the airtime. It's over 36 months. I usually pay it off between 12-14 months.
That explains it, choosing a 36 month plan makes the payments cheaper 😊

I’m over contacts, buying my iPhones outright and end up going on a cheap month to month sim plan, works out way cheaper in the end.

I might go back down this route again. I used to do this. Then I stopped for the past few years.

Way better than locking yourself into a contract and cheaper, by the time the next iPhones comes out you don’t have to worry about paying out your contract, sell your phone, put the money towards the new one and keep it moving. 😊😜

It's crazy. Canadians get shafted. I've said for years that the federal government needs to step in and regulate it because the big 3 have a monopoly and basically hold the rest of the country hostage. There is no reason we should be paying what we pay... and always bring your own phone no matter who you deal with. When they regulated away the required contracts the companies really went crazy with phone prices.
The Canadian Governement are in on it. That's the problem. They stifle competiton of the big 3 now, allowing them to buy up the small competitiors. the big three own EVERY telecom business even the budget carriers like lucky(bell) and public(telus). The Canadian Government will not allow others to enter the market to compete. I guess the CRTC get a nice box of chocolates every christmas from B,T, and R.

Never realised so many other western countries were still so expensive!

Three UK - unlimited data (including 5G, tethering and free roaming in the EU, USA, Australia and a load of other countries), unlimited texts, unlimited minutes for £21 a month.

(That’s about $28 US)

Damn, all so expensive. In the Netherlands €35 for unlimited internet and call and sms.
Combined it with home internet for €25 so I pay €25 for my mobile plan.
I have sim only, since taking a phone with a abonement here,is seen as a loan. And it will work out negative if you wanna take a mortgage.
