AT&T:
Verizon:
4 phones, all dumb phones. Two of the lines were originially smart phones but we knocked them down to leave for at&t. Still paying for them though because the ETF sucks. That bills about 100.
Not to start an AT&T vs Verizon war, but that's exactly why I switched from Verizon in the first place.
Even with my FAN discount, I was paying about $10/mo less to have your basic Flip Phone (send a text message on that phone? BWAHAHAHAHAHAH!) with 900 minutes (more than I ever used, but their 400 minute plan wasn't enough, and they had NO in between) than I'm paying now to have my iPhone 4 with unlimited texts & unlimited data. Even with the ETF, I still managed to come out ahead within a few months of leaving. Verizon was great, if you have a family plan, but it's just me, and virtually everyone I called was on AT&T.
When I originally switched, I'd bought a refurbished iPhone 3G, and simply had the unlimited data & 200 text messages, and ended up paying less. It was about a year before I added the unlimited texts, since I had a manager who did virtually everything by text message
