How much light leakage is normal?

Just noticed that I have a little light leakage but the last day to return was yesterday. Its not bad. On a black background (with brightness at 75% or above) in one area on the side you can see three places where the black isn't as black. It's noticeable but I'm not sure how distracting it will be. I read using the Kindle app on the black background and I noticed it there and also when trying to watch a movie.

It's not bad like some people where you can see the actual light leaking through the bezel. It's just a lighter discoloration.

Is this fairly normal given all the QC issues with the screens? My screen is also lightly tinted pink, but I suppose I can live with it. I already exchanged once. That one was pink too.

Thoughts? Any way they would let me exchange one day after my 14 day return period ended?

Is it the fact that there is leakage (does that sound weird?) or the fact that something has been impacted by it?

What I mean is...you went looking for the leakage....why?

I received my 16gb wifi yesterday and the screen looks exactly the same as yours (3 spots of bleed along one edge and a bright coloured corner) John Lewis are collecting mine Friday and dropping a replacement the same day.
In an ideal world there should not be any bleed, there wasn't any on the iPad 1 I sold to fund this one.......fingers crossed.

75%? That's why, you've cranked the brightness in a dark room.

Try running it normal in the middle, I run tick lower, doesn't sear your eye balls and doesn't distort the screen. In a dark room, I run down near minimum brightness.

It's like buying a stereo system and cranking it up until your ears bleed and finding some distortion.

Out in the sun, cranked to full bright, you won't be able to see the bleed.

i went looking for it because yesterday was my last day to return. but it now bothers me that its noticable.

    ----------

i like to keep the brightness around 70-75%. some like to keep it closer to 50%.
