I have a 16gb iP4S and it's fine for me. I use Spotify Premium to save selected songs on my phone for offline use (when I'm in a tunnel on the tube, for example), so I'm not using a great deal for music as I am streaming most of the time. I don't have much video but I tend to delete things after I have watched them. Apps take up the most space and I don't keep any rubbish I don't use on there.

right now i got the iPhone 8gb version and its not nearly enough for me, so what do you guys think is enough? I'm going to be using it for pictures and music and apps. now big into video.

thanks

Someone on here always says this, but get as much as you can afford. I have an old iPod, so I only use the iPhone as a phone. Depending on your situation, a larger phone would be optimal, particularly if you're heavy into video.

Depends on how much music and videos you have. I use most of my memory in Apps (11gb) so have only about 3gb free right now (1gb music and everything else combined).
The max is 64, you can get that and then fit everything in if that is enough. Like said, it depends on personal use.
1 music file is generally ~5MB (unless very high quality but ignore that for now)
1 movie (sd ~ 700mb, hd ~1.5gb).
1000mb = 1gb
You can do the math.

I used to have a 3GS 16GB which was all filled up. However I had lots of high-res photos and a lot of music on it which I never listened to. I contemplated getting a 32GB 4S, but honestly I found no reason for it.

After having used Spotify for almost 2 years, I've realized I no longer need iTunes, or the iPod-player in my iPhone. I now have all of my music in the cloud and I can access it from any computer or any iPhone/Android et.c. Also, I do not sync my photos from iPhoto, and neither do I watch movies on my iPhone - except for Youtube. Thus, I only use my iPhone built-in memory for pictures taken w/ the iPhone itself, Apps, Podcasts, Books. For this reason, 16GB is perfectly fine for me.

For an iPad on the other hand, which is used for media-consumption, I would never get anything less than the 32GB model.
