After I said I was done, what do I do? I order a Speck Pixelskin HD and Otterbox Defender via eBay. I'm done for real now, I think :D

I had a Speck Pixelskin HD before I got the SGP Modello... What I'm looking for in a case is to be as minimal as possible with having some level of protection. I can't stand having a bulky case, especially since this is the first iPhone and phone in general I actually used a case on. I totally found that in the Modello... Thinner than the Pixelskin HD and feels way better in hand too. If I spend any more money on cases it'll be more of these cases. Hopefully the next iPhone won't have a fully glass back so I won't have to worry about this and rock it naked...

I like the OB Defender because when I'm out DJing I have a habit of simply just tossing my phone around and the OB Defender gives me a piece of mine. I had the Modello and didn't like it at all and thought that the Pixelskin was better IMO.

Different strokes my friend haha... OB's are great for people that want that extra piece of mind that a case like that gives. Much too big for me, but I'm not really doing anything crazy or have any situations where I would need to have a case like that. I like the Modello way better than the Pixelskin HD simply because of how much more minimal it is... I like how it just goes up to the metal framing of the phone instead of literally overlapping onto the front panel. Makes for a very similar level of screen protection without being as intrusive. I feel it's also thinner and you can tell that holding it. The "pixels" on the Pixelskin come off the back of the case and are raised... makes it feel much more bulky IMO. If they were imprinted into the case like the plus signs on the Modello I feel it would be much better in hand. Idk coming from someone who hadn't used cases on any phones until the 4 I feel maybe I'm still just not used to having a case on my phone haha

That sums up your posts :D

Totally agree with you... like I said my perfect case is the case that keeps the slim profile of the phone, but still offers enough protection that the phone won't get mangled if I drop it. Starting to consider rocking it naked... what's the point of this AppleCare+ if it doesn't break at least once, right?!

i've spent about $400 just for my iPhone 4S. I get easily sick of same cases, and whenever I read reviews or postings about iPhone case that i like, I place orders right away. I know it's very BAD, but I still love to try many different cases! :)

Just interested, how much money have you spent on iPhone cases. I've spend at least $150. I know, its bad. How about you?

I've only bought two cases, ever. I bought a Marware for the 3GS and another Mareware for the 4S. I don't think they were any more than $30-40 each.

I have AT&T insurance on my iPhone and I still rock a case. Guess it's a habit or until they actually make the phone bigger and less slippery.

iPhone 2G: £3.00
Silicon case - £3.00 from Amazon

iPhone 3GS: £15.00
Speck Candyshell - £15.00 from eBay

iPhone 4: £2.98
Black bumper - Free from case programme
Black Speck Pixelskin HD - Free from case programme
Red Cassette case - Given it by a friend
Black leather flip case - Given to me as a Christmas present
White bumper - £2.98 from ebay

;)

Why not just save $200 and just use your iPhone naked beat the **** out of it, scratch it up and then just pay the $200 to get a new one later on ?? :D

No resale value maybe? Many ppl cover the cost of their upgrades and/or replacements by selling their previous device.

First iPhone (3GS):
-Invisible Shield $30
-Griffin Reveal $15 (on sale)

Second iPhone (4):
-Apple Bumper $0
-3rd party bumpers $15
-Speck candyshell $7 (on sale)
-Colored backplates $20

GRAND TOTAL: $87

My iPhone 4 is currently naked, so is my old 3GS which now belongs to my sister.

For my 3GS, i don't know the price, but i had 15 cases by the time i sold it.

For my 4
Scosche bandEDGE ($25)
Speck Candyshell ($10)
3 KO Apple Bumpers at $2 a pop
2 KO SGP Ultrathins at $2 a pop
Switcheasy Capsule Rebel ($10)
Belkin Shield Shock ($10)

So $65ish, give or take tax. I bought a few cases i ended up returning, but those don't count

I think I have spent a total of over $200 in cases not including screen protectors. Thinking back, I totally regret it as I could of easily replaced my iPhone if it had broken for $149. I probably will go caseless with just a screen protector with the next iPhone purchase.

Close to $50. But now I just use my Everskins skin without a case at all. Clean, and great protection.

Around $130 for my casing changing until I get a GGMM iPhone 4 metal case some days ago....

Yet no one could beat my wife as I think of it, around 30 iPhone 4 cases from the beginning included switch-easy,griffin,GGMM case etc, she spent on iPhone 4 case more than on me....

Way to much $
OB defender
Book Book
2x Element Vapor Pros
4 different Mas back plates
and a bunch of knockoff Cleaves and a Ivyskin that I never used.
I probably spent over $800 finding a setup that I liked.
I'm finally done buying cases since I found my fav combo, element vapor stealth with Mas carbon back. I really need to sell some of this stuff.

I just have one case (speck candyshell) and I got from the apple store online when I ordered my phone so it was $35.

My dream set up would be a mas back (rust) and graft leverage bumper, but as long as my current case works, I'll have to do my best not to be tempted!

I think I have tried almost every case they make, but since I buy them where I can take them back if I don't like them, I have not spent that much. I have settled on the Otterbox Defender as I am sometimes clumsy and don't want to see it shattered. I know it is not a pretty choice, but for me it is a wise choice.

So the short answer to your question is $50
