I would like to view as much as possible on the watch, and I can clearly see that the Ultra is much larger, and I really like the ability to have more complications on the modular face on the Ultra. However, with other apps, how much more is really being displayed at any given time? I have seen a couple of comparisons where it did not seem like much more was being displayed. Are there any really good side-by-side comparisons showing how much more can be seen on the Ultra? Can someone with experience with both provide your thoughts on how much more you can view on the Ultra?

Thanks

As you can see in the Maps example on Apple’s “compare” screen, you don’t get very much more. BUT, I find that the flat screen significantly improves visibility (no reflections around the edges) and ease of interacting with the screen.

Any idea if you are able to view more in other apps? OR is it the same across all apps on the Ultra?

Thanks!

Even if the app shows more, you’re unlikely to notice/feel the difference. But those extra pixels do make a difference when using the on-screen keyboard, for example. And as I said earlier, the flat screen helps. Using complications at the edges of the display is easier, for me, than on the regularly display. [Edit: typing the Q or the P on the keyboard is an even better test.]

Even at the max size, the text size was always too small for me on the regular Apple Watch (both models) so I'm wondering if the bigger screen of the Ultra means the font size is bigger or you just have more on the screen? Like in Messages, is it bigger, or you just see more text?

Thanks.

You know you can adjust text size on the Apple Watch right?

I tried the Ultra for about a week when it came out, and although I didn't compare the text size with the regular watch, the Ultra was definitely easier to read. It had me wishing for an ebook reading app for the watch, whereas I don't even read text messages on the regular watch. I think it's definitely worth giving the Ultra a try if you have trouble reading text on the regular watch.

…Further using accessibility
is what I forgot to post , but hey if responding like a jerk makes you feel empowered and makes your day I’ll give you your five mins of ‘glory’

I already use accessibility, but on the watch, even the largest accessibility font can be difficult to read. I have some vision trouble so that’s why I ask. I have the 44mm series 6 and I can read it but it’s often difficult for me. If the text font is bigger on the ultra by default due to the much bigger screen, it could be a game changer for me. So for anyone that have botch watches can answer this, I’d truly appreciate it, thanks.

Would you be able to visit an Apple Store? The best way to be sure whether or not it'll work for you specifically would be to actually play with the settings and see how it works. Apologies if this isn't an option, hopefully someone who has both can chime in.

I only have my 41mm, but have AWU2 on the way. Very curious to experience the difference.

Having just purchased the Ultra, coming from the Series 4, I’d say the difference in viewable content is marginal. The watch case feels and looks significantly larger though. Took a couple side-by-side shots for comparison. Both watches are set to the same font size (3 steps from smallest). The Ultra’s corner radius is also much larger so elements like the text box and app icon are cut off, unlike on the regular displays.

Thanks a lot for your reply! This is exactly what I have asking for! According to your pictures, it doesn't seems to be a difference between the two for the font size. I don't know if its a placebo effect or my brain would want the ultra to be better so bad, but it seems its a "little" (and I insist with the little) bit bigger on the ultra but its difficult to say.

But for such a small difference, I think I'll stay with my Series 6 for now. But again, thanks a lot for your time and help. Very appreciated.

The difference is not just the text size, but the Ultra screen is brighter and clearer. It really makes the text much easier to read. If you have the chance to see the Ultra in person, you should do that. The difference doesn't come through in pictures.

You’re welcome! There’s not a life changing difference in viewable content, contrary to what I’ve seen touted. Both the 4 and ultra have the same dynamic text size options too.

I didn’t upgrade to see more. For me, it primarily came down to battery and speed. I started with the Series 0, moved to the 4 and now I’m on the U2. I plan to keep my watch for a while and I feel that this one will keep me satisfied the longest.

My 54 year old eyes are happier with the Ultra. Everything is just a tad bigger, and I'm fine with that. And I don't just mean text message or email text, but the tiny numbers on certain complications like Apple's corner Date complication.
