Mine has a slight bend to it. If you squint you can barely see it. More cosmetic than anything, although there is a slight creak when I open the lid now.

I don't see it *scratch head*.

But seriously, what happened there? The top looks like plastic that melted.

That'll buff out, quit complaining.

LOLOLOL my friends and I used to say that when my friends would get into accidents...even if the entire front of the car was missing

That damage does show something smart though. Notice the MBP hard drive is to the extreme end of the computer. Obviously, the middle bends before the end which in essence, gives you a higher chance of recovering your data :D

mine has a quite big hole near at the bottom left edge of the bottom case (left from the trackpad), from when it fell down on marble xD but it works fine.

This is pure genius :D
not sure if should be worried but that looks like its actually powered on :D
gutted for you on it being slightly dented...

my macbook pro has had a 4foot drop onto a tiled kitchen floor and has a dent on the front side where the battery indicator is and the right hand hinge is so broooooken and the screen is slowly getting carving marks in it and if you push the screen it starts to bend the front!!!

i thought mine was bad until i saw that picture...

Mine fell (open and on) about 1 m onto a short pile carpet. Somehow there is a slight dent in the lid at the back left and the lid isn't quite as square with the body as before. No other issues. I thought it would be fried...

So here's the story... I was listening to music with headphones, and I stood up from my desk, and I forgot about the headphones. I tripped on the headphone cable , and as I watched in horror as my brand new (2.4 ghz, 4gb ram, Nvidia 320m) MBP fell to the floor with no more than a humble "bang.":( It works perfectly normally, as it was in my clear speck case, but the corners on the left are slightly bent, and there is that "scratched" look on the corners, because of the fall.

That happened about 8 months ago. I have since had the entire display assembly replaced because of dust under the glass... So I do not have the marks that the drop caused. See these pictures of the damage:

Good find there. It's a real testament to the durability of this model that the laptop is still in one piece. Though its mangled, I know my plastic Dell would be crushed to many little pieces if it was ever run over by a truck. And it sure wouldn't be able to power any LED lights!

Whoa, been a while since I have been here.

I brought my MBP in 08 and I made the mistake of taking it too high school where some sort of game taken place concerning my bag. (at the time people didn't know I had a 15" laptop in my bag) But I got a decent dent at the express 3/4' port and the speaker part was bent up in such a way that it touched the screen when I closed the lid.

It still works completely fine for nearly being 3 years old.
oh and for the record I bent parts of it back into place with a pair of scissors. not a good idea looking back on it, but it was the only thing strong enough to bend the port so I could close the lid.

This is my sisters aluminum macbook I bought her for Christmas the year they were out. She never takes care of anything and even though I really have no clue how these happened (neither does she) I'm guessing it was from when she used to put her laptop in her checked luggage....
