I can't add much more to the title it really has captured the essence of my query.
 
Check crucial.com. You can enter your make and model and they will tell you machine specific specs related to RAM.
 
Crucial only give the apple recommended specs. For example Crucial list the maximum ram for the 1.25GHz emac as 1024 but it can take double that.

So I was wondering what is the definite maximum amount of ram that a late model mini can handle.
