I'm unsure how much RAM my iMac can carry.. OWC says one thing but MacRumors and the iMac box say another.

Its an iMac7,1... Its a 20" 2.4 GHZ C2D aluminum model. OWC says it can take 6 GB but I'm under the presumption it can only carry 4GB. (late 2007)

I had that exact same model. I kept one of the 2GB chips it came with and upgraded it with a 4GB SODIMM DDR2 667 chip from newegg. It worked just fine! Do not try and upgrade that specific iteration to 8GB though or you will have issues running OS X. I believe the chipset that iMac ran was able to support 8GB but OS X was unable to properly address that much. What OWC says is accurate.
