How much RAM can my iMac hold?

I'm unsure how much RAM my iMac can carry.. OWC says one thing but MacRumors and the iMac box say another.

Its an iMac7,1... Its a 20" 2.4 GHZ C2D aluminum model. OWC says it can take 6 GB but I'm under the presumption it can only carry 4GB.

I had that exact same model. I kept one of the 2GB chips it came with and upgraded it with a 4GB SODIMM DDR2 667 chip from newegg. It worked just fine! Do not try and upgrade that specific iteration to 8GB though or you will have issues running OS X. I believe the chipset that iMac ran was able to support 8GB but OS X was unable to properly address that much. What OWC says is accurate.
