4gb.
EDIT: Interesting, I had "gb" in caps and it changed it to lowercase. In any case, I have for gigabytes of RAM.
Yeah me and DoFoT9 noticed this earlier. Doesn't happen in the middle of a sentence, only at the start of a post/sentence (not sure which). I didn't like it so I changed my post to 'I have 4GB.'![]()

Yeah, that's the reason I posted here. I had to see it to believe it. I have 4GB of RAM.![]()
I am palnning to upgrade my Macbook Core Duo 1.83 up to 2G(2x 1G RAM module)..but just want to ask if its possible to max out up to 3GB or 4GB of RAM? ((though this model has 2GB max RAM)
I don't think so. If your MacBook is a mid 2007 model or earlier per this Apple support page http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1651 the macbook would be uncapable of recognizing more RAM.
Maybe it's Apple giving us the kool aid, but I don't know if I would spend the money to risk it...
Model Name: MacBook
I used 2x Lenovo 4GB chips and have had no issues at all (except a faster machine).
My machine was manufactured in early January. A co-worker has a machine, also from early January, running 8GB of RAM with no issues as well.
