How much RAM does your MacBook have?

I have a 2ghz 2,1 atm, with 2gb of ram and it runs very well. But tomorrow morning it will have 4gb :D

4gb.

EDIT: Interesting, I had "gb" in caps and it changed it to lowercase. In any case, I have for gigabytes of RAM.

Yeah me and DoFoT9 noticed this earlier. Doesn't happen in the middle of a sentence, only at the start of a post/sentence (not sure which). I didn't like it so I changed my post to 'I have 4GB.' :p

Yeah, that's the reason I posted here. I had to see it to believe it. I have 4GB of RAM. :D

I have a mid-2009 white MacBook (the last non-unibody plastic MacBook). I have 4 GB of RAM that I bought from Crucial.com. I never buy memory from Apple, since it is way overpriced.

just giving an update here. So I recently upgraded my RAM from 1GB to 4GB on my Macbook.

I feel as if I just bought a brand new computer. Previously my macbook was so old I was almost wanting to go back to my old Dell POS that my parents gave me in 2004. (almost not quite). I also just found out, that said Dell had 2GB of RAM, doubling the Macbook that I bought in Dec 2007. AND the Dell was basically a POS when I got it, only further proving how behind the times Apple likes to be with their hardware.... Makes me sad...

But anyway, my macbook now rocks and I basically saved having to buy a new computer by purchasing $100 of RAM :)

I was initially planning to have 2GB for my MacBook and after much consideration, I decided to go for 4GB. I believe it's worth it no matter be it to be use for studies/gaming.

Just picked up my MacBook late 2008 model and this is what shows up on my System Profiler after memory and hard drive upgrade:

Model Name: MacBook
Model Identifier: MacBook4,1
Processor Name: Intel Core 2 Duo
Processor Speed: 2.4 GHz
Number Of Processors: 1
Total Number Of Cores: 2
L2 Cache: 3 MB
Memory: 6 GB
Bus Speed: 800 MHz

Hard drive
Capacity: 500.11 GB (500,107,862,016 bytes)
Rotational Rate: 7200

This MacBook has been excellent so far and I can also run Windows 7 Professional using VMWare Fusion with very little performance lag. Love it!:apple: The memory upgrade was purchased from OWC. I got the 6 GB kit and am happy with it. So far there are no performance issues with my mac using two different size memory bars.

I am palnning to upgrade my Macbook Core Duo 1.83 up to 2G(2x 1G RAM module)..but just want to ask if its possible to max out up to 3GB or 4GB of RAM? ((though this model has 2GB max RAM:D)

I don't think so. If your MacBook is a mid 2007 model or earlier per this Apple support page http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1651 the macbook would be uncapable of recognizing more RAM.

Maybe it's Apple giving us the kool aid, but I don't know if I would spend the money to risk it...

Core Duo 1,1 (mid '06) = 2GB max.. any more and it won't startup.
Core 2 Duo 2,1 (late '06 & mid '07) = 4GB but will utilize 3-3.3 of it.
Core 2 Duo 3,1 and higher = 4GB and up to 8GB depending on the model.

I used 2x Lenovo 4GB chips and have had no issues at all (except a faster machine).

My machine was manufactured in early January. A co-worker has a machine, also from early January, running 8GB of RAM with no issues as well.

MacTracker lists my machine that it will take 8 gigs ram, even tho Apple says only 4. I have the new mid 2010 refresh with 4 gigs ram and a 500 gig hard drive. I truly love this machine!!
