Yeah, I need the VESA mount (I already have my iMac mounted that way), but I don't want to wait 10 weeks! So I plan to buy with the regular stand, then take it to the Apple Store and have them swap it out for the VESA mount. I think that will be faster.
That said, I probably won't order the ASD until the M2 Pro Mini is available, or at least announced. I thought about trading my iMac Pro in and using my 14" MBP as my "desktop" until the M2 Pro Mini is ready, but I'm worried that won't work well. I have a lot of peripherals connected to my iMac Pro, including some audio recording equipment, that for whatever reason don't work when connected to a dock (OWC Thunderbolt 3, in my case).
