How much read/writes can the memory take ?

I've got the NEST app on our iPhone and while Nest swears video is pulled in real time when viewing the footage, I'm pretty sure there is streaming/cached video data being sent to the app as long as it has internet connectivity. I literally can use the app and flick/scroll through 5 days of video very seamlessly. That much video no way is being pulled off the internet as I scroll....

Which got me thinking on the onboard memory and how any read/write it can take.

I believe that number is limited. That said, I've NEVER heard of ANYONE wearing out their memory. I've been a developer for over 30 years and have never even heard anyone suggest that memory might be going bad. I'd be more concerned about being struck by lightening than my memory wearing out (computer memory of course; the memory in my head is a piece of crap)

That said, I don't know the actual numbers.

If the app was constantly streaming at all times your cellular data usage would be huge. Something you can easily check.
