How much real storage is left for iPad mini

Anyone know how much storage does the iOS and default apps is used by a new iPad Mini. i am not a very heavy user and I'm considering buying either a 16 GB or 32 GB. How much actual storage space is left on a new 16GB iPad mini?

The actual capacity of a 32 gig mini is 28.3 gig.
Ios etc appears to take up 3.7 gig.

I think the 16 GB is somewhere around 12.5 when you take it out of the box.
