All of my tweaks are there now, I'm just debating compromising my speed and flow. Is it a huge difference, even w the latest updates?

Nothing perceivable. However, I rarely use apps that are processor / graphics intensive.

Not much different. Apps have gotten more demanding but that isn't iOS7's fault. It absolutely crippled the iPhone 4 though.

My 4S is faster once I turned off a couple settings. I think I was having problems with iOS 6 though. I'd get a lot of apps that would hang.

No loss in speed on my 4S. If anything it's quicker with all the 'shortcuts'. Love it enough that I saw no reason to go to a 5. YMMV:)

My 4 (not 4S) got faster. After that I upgraded to the 5S though.

Interesting. My 4 (not 4S) became a bloated pig, that I hate using. after the upgrade to iOS7.

My friend has a 4S, and it runs iOS7 with no issues.

Same story with my iPhone 4. Anyway, I decided to upgrade my iPhone in 2014 - can't wait for the iPhone 6!

Opening and closing apps are pretty much the same. I did turn on reduce motion in accessibility (a.k.a. disable parallax).

What about the slower animations everyone's talkin about? I've noticed myself, when you open apps it's slower.

My 4S got much slower, but still usable. My brother has a 4 and his seems just as fast or maybe even faster than my 4S. I am hoping it gets better with 7.1, but I am not too concerned since I use my iPad mini more than my phone now.

I'd try to restore from new on the 4S. I've found worlds of difference between the 4 and 4S on iOS 7.0.4.

Maybe I'll give it a try this weekend. My wife is on a 4S too, but she is in Japan and won't be back until mid-March, so I can't compare.

The one app that I find annoying slow since iOS 7 is "LINE" by naver, and I use it daily.

Might be good to clean up some apps I don't use anymore anyhow.

When I enable "reduce motion" in accessibility, it also tones down the animation. Unfortunately it's a all or nothing setting in 7.0, disabling parallax, disables a lot of other animations as well. Maybe there's a 0.5 to 1 second lag. I also don't use a lot of notification services, like push mail, so it "may" have help with the speed.

A suggestion. If there's an Apple store nearby, you should check out their iPhone 4S demo units since it's still being sold and will have 7.0 OS loaded. You can judge for yourself if the animations are too slow for your liking. I'd feel bad if what I find acceptable turns out to be too slow for you :)

Just went and checked it out @ AT&T! Works fine, thanks.

On my way to Apple Store now.
